How are you supposed to remove the dirty air filter without dropping some dirt down the intake ? I'm so careful but always seem to drop some down there and end up taking everything apart to clean it . I'm running a twin air powerflow kit , which works great but it impossible to take it out dirty and drop dirt . Awesome bike but that seems a real bad system .

I'd consider running PC Racing Filter Skins so you can clear away the chunks/sand grains, quick wipe or vacuum airbox before removing the main filter.

I kinda brush away the big chunks, rock the filter back towards the tank, then almost scrape it up against the back of the air box and out. I mean granted your still drop a bit here and there but I just pop the cage and wipe er down and good to go

Always lay bike over on its side then take it out
less chance of getting dirt in

I use a vacuum to suck up all the main dirt and pebbles off the filter and edges before removal.. Then I vacuum out the Airbox just in case. Twinair power flow setup.

It's hard to describe, but I lift one side up first to clear the edge and then lift straight up. I've never hade dirt fall in......yet. I sometimes have some on the bottom rim when it seals, but never over in the boot. I have the Powerflow kit also.
