Best Rider vs Best Racer?

It’s been posted at least a hundred times “Kenny is the fastest”, “Forkner is the fastest,” “James Stewart is the fastest man on the planet.” There is a big difference between best rider and best racer. Josh Hansen has to be one of the best riders to ever swing a leg over a motorcycle. Villopoto has to be one of the best racers ever.

Can we agree that there is a difference between best rider and best racer? Post up your best rider vs best racer.

Hansen (rider) vs Webb (racer)

How many times does Webb need to straight up beat roczen for you guys to stop saying he’s not the best rider too?

I get what your saying about natural talent and technically better but hansen vs webb is whack.

James stewart was probably consideres one of the greatest skilled riders and coukd technically do things a lot of guys couldnt, compared to ricky carmichael who probably wasn't as talented or skilled in that natural talen catergory, but surpassed everyone as the best racer.

Everyone starts on the same line and the finish line is also the same distance for everyone who lined up.

The guy who gets to it first is the fastest.

I tendend to agree, but his win today was a game changer. On a legit SX technical track, not the arenacross ones he usually wins, huge statement imho. I could't dislike more the guy but gotta give him the props, he has earned it.

I don't believe even pre double arm injury Roczen (2017 form if you will) would be able to beat this Assassin known as Cooper Webb

Absolutely true. Some great SX riders I can think of past and present are Roczen, Tomac, Bubba, Cianciarulo, Pastrana...but when it comes to the nitty gritty of slogging it out to win championships, even when you're not the fastest guy...you gotta look at Cooper Webb and Dungey. I feel Villopoto, RC and Mcgrath are 3 guys who are in the elite category of both having raw speed and the talent to race perfectly with it. Guys like Cianciarulo, Roczen, Tomac all have that pure pace but they don't have the consistency of Webb, or Dungey, Villopoto etc.

Webb is the best and the fastest right now . In these last two races the top 3 in points have started together and Webb has come out on top . In the previous round I believe he also had the fastest lap . What am I missing ?

Crazy how Webb can cut down a corner. On tight and technical tracks, this is lethal.

Webb 2021 450 Supercross Champ. Roczen retires to Vet class with Villopoto, Reed, Dungey. It’s General Roczen last stand.

No one's been better than tomac ever since RV retired, he just hasn't got the same mentality as a Webb.
