Sprocket Question

I would like to know Im currently running a 47 tooth sprocket in the back,but its not giving me the power I really want,,what is the next size wich will give me more power but wont affect my speed that much ? anyone HELP...

More Power? Are you looking for more top end speed or bottom end? I'm assuming since you have a 47t now you probably are looking for more get up and go on bottom end, if thats the case, you'll want to go to a 48 or 49 rear.

You probably won't even feel much of a difference with only one tooth more on the rear. Start with the 49T.

I agree - if you're looking for something you will notice for sure, start with the 49. Most riders wouldnt even be able to tell the difference in 1 tooth...

If you go a few sizes bigger on the rear theres also a chance that your chain could be to short. I recommend trying 1 tooth smaller on the front, that's aproximately the same as 3 teeth bigger on the rear, plus front sprockets are less expensive.

On typical dirt gearing 1 tooth at the front is equal to 3.5 teeth on the rear.......and that is a huge difference. 2 teeth on the rear is a big difference.

I've always been told that one tooth on the front was like 2.5 teeth on the rear.

I guess it depends on the number of teeth in the farther ranges as some countershaft changes are only .1 difference. I guess that would be less than two teeth on the rear, wouldn't it?
