Went to get this new trail bike for my wife for Valentine’s Day, and they made me a deal I couldn’t refuse on this leftover RMZ450.

So did you go to the dealership the day before and give them $2,000 cash and tell the salesperson to make it seem like he gave you an awesome dealio while your wife was present, so you could get a new bike also? I like that tactic.

Well, a girl knows she needs a matching clutch for a purse.

I just finished working on a klx230r. It a horrible bike to ride stock but has potential. The idle is often crazy high and the front forks are super soft. It makes the bike awful to ride. Go to thumpertalk and search up KLX230R mods. There is a 14 page thread.

Basically, there is are 2 easy nearly fixes for the forks and idle problem. It will improve that bike tremendously.

If I would have gotten my wife (now ex), it wouldn't go over well.

Congratulations to you and your wife!

Yes I snagged the last one that they had. I’ve been kicking the tires on it for several years, finally pulled the trigger.

Yeah I saw that thread. Sounds like the Juken CDI is a turd though, will have to see how bad the high idle issue really is before I go messing with it.

I’ll shorten the fork springs and add spacers, and use the 20W fork oil as suggested on there. Only concern is with the lack of adjustability if the stock cartridges will have enough rebound dampening. Don’t want to get too carried away throwing money at it trying to make the bike something that it’s not.

I don’t want to give the exact amount, I’ll just say I made an offer not expecting it to be accepted, as I didn’t need another bike and truthfully was hoping they’d reject it so I could just come home with the one bike that we went there for. I think they were happy to finally get the bike off of their floor, so it was good for all parties involved.
