Any insight if KTM are done buying up their smaller competitors?
They mention gas gas the fun brand, KTM the race brand, husky the heritage brand would be cool to see them scoop up tm racing as their special ‘handmade’ brand

Yeah no thanks, Tm is as good as a ktm if not better. No reason to lose another brand to ktm. And I’m a fan of ktm but that wouldn’t be cool at all.

The chaps in Pesaro will never sell. Lots of pride there, and the quality of the bikes is evident. Put one next to a KTM and the orange bike looks Japanese in comparison.

I have never seen a kawasaki to do all that stuff!

But I’m not saying kawasaki is the best finish quality. Even the o I’m a kawasaki guy I would say year over year Honda wins the fit and finish quality wars!

KTM’s have such high quality you have to tighten spokes and sprocket bolts mid moto.

I’m about tired of these KTM Should Buy _____ threads.

I agree the Austrians are doing great things, but nothing comes close to Honda build quality from a CRF 50 to an Acura NSX, with lawn mowers, generators, and marine motors at the highest level also. Just the fastener quality alone speaks for itself.

Gas Gas wasn't really a competitor for KTM. Maybe Sherco/TM/ Suzuki and the like but not KTM

I agree the Austrians are doing great things, but nothing comes close to Honda build quality from a CRF 50 to an Acura NSX, with lawn mowers, generators, and marine motors at the highest level also. Just the fastener quality alone speaks for itself.
I won’t argue that Honda isn’t #1 on overall quality but Yamaha is certainly close.

Yamaha marine blows Honda and everyone else out of the water.

The Yamaha engine in my 2004 Toyota Celica has over 200k and still runs like new just like the best Honda auto engines.

Don’t know how old you are, but I’ve been around MX for 4 + decades. I remember when KTM’s were really bad. They’ve come a long way, but they’re still behind the Japanese brands when it comes to quality.

We had Hondas and Yamahas for years before going to KTMs they were total junk. Those Hondas ate pistons and cylinders like crazy. Yamaha locked up solid at 4 hours on a brand new bike Yamaha said pound sand. We have never had near the kind of issues on KTMs not even remotely close. You guys that think the Japanese build quality is even close to as high are out in left field.

Everyone missed the point of the original thread! KTM is buying up its competition thus eliminating it! Kinda like how the communists are banning diversity of thought on social media right now! You can believe what you want as long as you believe what we believe. You can buy what you want because we own every option you have! Guys are proving concussions are dangerous!

I dont really get the KTM branding game plan. I love fun but I'm not going to buy a gas gas because the factory race team has a fun motto.

I do own a KTM though, mainly because I am short and light so the 150 works perfect for me. I buy a KTM because they are investing in these other models of bikes outside of just 250f and 450f moto bikes.

Hopefully having all these brands doesn't take away effort they put into these more obscure models.

KTM isn’t buying up the competition, they are buying brands that are in financial hard ship and would otherwise be going out of business.

People keep talking all the time about them buying TM or Beta next. That isn’t happening, both those companies are family owned very solid financially and otherwise.

Not sure what you mean. The 7th generation Celica GT-S came from the factory with a Yamaha developed 1.8L VVTL-I N/A I-4 with over 200 HP.
