Broke my elbow in September. 7 weeks off (started back up early XD). Healthy for about a little over a month. Broke my scapula in two spots (Another 6-10 weeks). Bummed out because not only am I missing out on some sick winter racing, but im bored as hell!

It,s a lot longer than 3 months in Wi. Nice weather 60 or more is June to sept. That’s why we only have 1 national champion. 2 time National arena cross champ Rad Chad Johnson.

Just got a yz125, haven't ridden since I sold my last 450 in August of 2006! Still remember the day I sold it....

Just had a follow up appointment to go over my MRI... Dabbed my foot in a corner and caught a hard packed baked out rut. Happened October 18th and just now was able to get my full diagnosis thanks to our broken medical/insurance system. Torn ACL, 2 meniscus tears and a bruised tibia. Hopefully I can get in for surgery somewhat soon and start recovery. It’ll be damn near a year when it’s all said and done... Thankfully my 8year old is ripping so we’ll be traveling and racing still.

By late February I’m like a crazy madman waiting to ride. It’s my therapy for an insane world. Cold winters are a great excuse to maintain go over bikes but it’s a bit awkward when your wife catches you, a grown man, sitting on a bike in the garage making dirt bike noises. Come on Spring!

Been off the bike for over a year now. I remember the last time I rode it was awesome, everything was clicking it was probably the best I’ve ever ridden. A small slick spot on a straight took me down with a concussion and broken wrist.
I miss it but I’m not desperate to go back, must be my age getting to me. Every time I think of riding I think of the injuries. When I do go back I think I’ll focus on technique and endurance and not just trying to ride fast with no goal. I’ve taken a year off before, came back faster and more focused.

I did complete tear of my ACL, partial of MCL, broke part of my femur back in February, then covid stuff hit they quit doing elective surgeries, then my insurance dropped me. I couldn’t walk really well for little bit but in October I bought a different brand of knee brace and have been riding with no discomfort luckily with it still messed up. Heal up knee injury’s suck! I think what helped me is I started road biking and have built up the muscle around it.

My last ride was on a Friday night track. After a 4th steep face wfo jump, hit a left high bank bowl turn. Stab rear brake to slide it in standing up, g force forced my butt on the seat. Railed that sucka. Ice riding can be fun, make figure 8 tracks. Different turn tracks, riding just for fun. But it makes ya faster in corners. When you hit the dirt.

Winter does suck. The weather is just cold enough (rarely gets much above 40 on a day a track is open) around PA to make it not enjoyable / worthwhile to ride. But things are usually good early March to early December. Any longer than 3 months and I would have to move. I just end up buying gear and goodies for the next season with the extra cash saved by not riding ha.

November and December, I usually take off from riding every week and just try to recover any nagging injuries and refresh myself with family time. I still continue to keep my fitness up though and it is not too bad when racing starts up in January and usually non stop through Loretta's.
