Watching that video they have still some testing to do before real racing on MXGP level. Looked more like enduro setting at rear. Racing those kind of speeds and track is whole new thing after riding around trees in woods.

Yup, that Charlier guy don't know shit about MX, he only won the MXoN - right after the ISDE.
Wink
I was about to say.. did we already forget who Charlier was and what he has done at a professional level?

I'd love to see them put on a full MX effort. Even a new Beta 85 (small wheel and big wheel capable) would be fantastic in a couple years.

They will need to get on a 250F motor pretty quick though. I don't think 1 class of bike is going to pull many fans away from the bikes already out there.

Not a KTM motor, although there is some history between the two parties. Beta made mini bike engines for the Orange bikes and agreed not to compete against them for a certain number of years. The original 4t Enduro's used KTM RFS engines. Beta's 2t designer that created the successful 250/300 is Austrian..

"This brings us to the time frame of the Beta/KTM agreement. Lots of correct and incorrect rumors floating around about this. In 1994, Beta was interested in purchasing the design of a 50cc engine with six gears. At the time, Beta already had a 50cc engine with an automatic transmission, KTM took interest in this. Thus, the start of working together. Beta helped develop and assemble over 6,000 engines for 85cc and 105cc for KTM and Husqvarna. At the Betamotor factory, an assembly line was dedicated to the Austrian’s. The agreement with KTM gave Beta great training for the future. In 2004, another agreement was signed. The Austrian company would supply the Italian company exclusively with enduro engines of various displacements. KTM has never granted this with anyone else. It was a key factor for Beta to get their enduro models on the market. By 2009, Beta started making their own engine for 350CC and up. Beta and KTM worked together until 2016."

That was a long time ago. I think they started in 05 then by 2010 they were using their own motors.

Interesting they used a photo from Qatar... At the moment Oman is first scheduled MXGP, but we've not been there before so I guess Qatar is close enough to get the hint across that they'll be at round one of 2021 world champs...

Either that or I'm reading too much into it

Oman won't have the EMX 250 class.

It would be a good place for Beta to be involved anyway, but you are in denial again. It's happening. Just like the 300RX and Mitch Cooke's bike.

For those that missed it a few months back. 67hp 430. Lighter than KTM.

"We actually didn't shave anything off that wouldn't be on a traditional MX bike.
Removed the headlight, blinkers, rear taillight shroud, and took off the extra wiring that wasn't needed."
"We did it because we could, not because we wanted to mass produce an MX version.
We wanted to do something nobody else had done before, and it turned out much better than we ever thought possible. It's a weapon on the track, there's no other way to describe it."

😂Mitch is on GasGas now, the Beta didn’t work out so great as an MX bike. Wasn’t as competitive as stock bikes currently offered. That happened a while back. The 300RX isn’t a Beta Factory bike, it was a US market bike only. I think maybe you are taking the Oman pic literally perhaps? It’s a pretty vague post isn’t it.

Last time I checked Beta was not or is not racing MXGP. Everyone is guessing. I’m not a big fan of cryptic posts. First the RX now this. Just make the announcement.

You'd think you'd learn how Beta's cryptic posts work, just like every other manufacturer they milk it on social media.
The RR-S models are U.S. market only also, and they are very much coming out of the Beta factory, just like the RX's which are stuck at the port at the moment.
