The last time I went to Indy for Supercross I wa sitting there and this girl pulled up her shirt and LET THE PUPPIES BREATHE!!! Security then came and escorted her to the exit!

Later that same year when entering Red Bud we had already made sure to not have any bottles and all of our beer etc had been purchased in cans. The security dug in our cooler found a jar of pickles and made us poor them out! They then confiscated the jar. Apparently pickle jars make excellent Maltov Cocktails! Who Knew? We were pretty excited at this point! We were in the adult campground and had hopes of seeing some adult things! Man what a let down! I am not sure I even saw a set of Hooters! All the hype about the Wildness and the couch burning certainly never materialized that trip.

The wildest thing I saw was my buddies having a hogging contest at the Hotel Bar the year before. The Rules are simple the guy that bags the biggest fattest hog gets his trip paid for by the rest of the group! It is quite a hilarious tradition!
Wow. Who was the rider and what year? I always like "The Stalker, Matt Walker!".

Watching bob hannah and a few others off road thier rental cars,
I see back in the day that was acceptable what would happen if you did that these days (Lawrence / Hill) it's great when legends do that stuff.

I love hearing about these stories but its amazing how now-a-days its frowned upon with the current generation. Peoople really need to take a step back on these boards and have a good think before they go into abuse mode for someone doing something wild.
Imagine MXA's story if it was J-Law who SH1T in the front of someones car like Bob Hannah did.
Keep up the stories though they are great makes you realise how good things use to be before we went into satisfying the minorities mode
these people weren't fuckups, they were the best in the world blowing off steam or whatever. jlaw is a jagoff...jesus just look around at the races today, he isn't racing is he? hannah or smith or schultz's never ever would have screwed up at the "race" like jlaw. they had integrity, they had pride, they had honor....for fucks sakes and they raced.

no comparison...none what so ever

M has a point. Those guys raised hell on and off the track. Not just off.

The riot at High Point, alot of cars go burned. Also so many people tried to cross a pond there through the years that it had to be filled in.

The pro pits at Steel City had fresh grass planted with straw still down, people set it on fire with roman candles from the opposite hillside

I've seen a lot of crazy stuff at High Point and Steel City. Too much to detail. High Point is always crazy...even though I'm not far we used to stay overnight years ago and it was a full on lawless party all night.

There were a lot of years at High Point where the crappers always got burned. Lots of fond memories of debauchery at High Point!

My dad used to work security at the races at High Point and Steel City and my two favorite stories are these...

He was wearing his uniform and walking along the fence when he walks by this guy and the guy goes "Hey, Copper!" My dad stopped and said, "what did you call me that for?" The guy says, "well, you look like a cop don't ya?" And my dad says, "Well, I didn't call you dickhead..."

One year he was working parking detail when a car pulls out of the line to get in and tries to go around some of the other cars. My dad went up to the window and said, "where do you think you're going?" The "guy" was in the car with his girlfriend and says, "Hey, I'm the top guy out there on the track." My dad replies, "well, I'm the top guy in this parking lot and you're going to have to wait like everyone else." The guy's girlfriend busts out laughing and they wait their turn. Turns out the "guys" girlfriend's name was Ursula and, you guessed it, the "guy" was Ricky Carmichael.

I have no idea if these events actually occurred, but my dad always like to tell these stories (he's kind of a BS'er though :-)

Watched a guy try to walk down the side of Mt St Helens in 94 or 95. He had a beer in one hand and the cooler in the other. He started to pick up speed and let the cooler go but he was running way to fast, he smoked that cooler down the hill. He got almost to the bottom and then tripped. He went end over end like 5 - 8 times. He stood up, beer still in hand and looked at his elbow that was now bent the oposite way. He mummbled something and then grabbed that arm and was yanking down on it trying to get in back into place. People who were watching this happen , ran up to the guy to chill him out and wait for the medics to come. He was hammered and just blew everybody off and started to walk away. This is when the pain hit him. He took 2 steps and passed out landing on his face and cutting in open. Medics were right there and took him away on a strecher right away.

at amateur days back in 2006 at washougal they had the monster crossover race with many big name bmxers. after watching these guys do some incerdeible stuff this one guy tops it off by dropping in on this hillside off this guys diesel pusher motorhome and did it perfect!! it was like 20+ feet down and really sketchy. later that week my son was watching espn and says "dad theres that guy who was doing the tricks at the track on TV"

Fights at Glen Helen. I remember one year, I think it was '06, Stew was doing a victory lap and when he was at the bottom of Mt St. Helens, there was a huge brawl going on, and Stew looked over at it like, wtf?
I think I saw that fight too...the fight I saw was a freagin great brawl...like 3 on 3...right when you thought it was over they started back up again....then one dude tried to slink out when the Sheriff's were coming and they snatched his ass up....hilarious

Now I remember the circumstances....someone got ahold of the hose to water the track and started spraying the hose on the track as riders went by....riders were getting pissed, rightfully so, and the crowd took the situation into their own hands and it was on!!!

I can just see this guy's logic b/c I've been there before, but not had that outcome...okay...I'm f-in wasted, I need to get down this hill and I've still got some beer left....I can just cruise down this hill and be cool....uhhhh no

The best of times then Mr. Moe.....bottom pic is '74; Grossi on the Honda #45. Ellis and Gary Jones look to be behind him. Top looks '72; maybe '73

Very best times had.

Not a National, but an AX 3 hours east of Sac; later '90s each November.

Fri/Sat night Pro AX shows.

After Fri night races over; upstairs for the real show.

One rider got say a "friendly hand placed down his....."....Still remember who.

The "ladies" had a party of their own; geezis louise-is.

I'm sure a few remember....

Sorry not a National, but this was.....unreal and the wildest thing ever.....

If I had a dollar for every set of hoots I've seen at Unadilla i'd own my own race team. I've got a good video of a "nice girl" that took on 3 of my buds all night last year on the sat. night at the Unadilla national.
Cool

i dont know where i was for that kinda gal! but i remember being at dilla in maybe 03 when the whole line of porta pottys got pushed down the hill, people in them or not.. cars started to get lit on fire, and shit got reeeaaall bad.. cops started to get thrown in and it was great, all the way up unitl we got the vodka bottle out, started doing wheelies on our bikes and had them confiscated. On a plus note, our bikes were safe from being stolen for the night Silly
Wasnt '03 the year they burned down the announcers tower on U2??
In '07 Josh Hill walked into our pits because he wanted to play horsehoes.

The wildest I've ever seen was party across the street at the Unadilla GP's in the early 80's. Some guy had a box van filled with stereo equipment and huge concert sized speakers on the roof blasting music right next to the 100 ft bonfire. There were huge crowds around the fire and every so often, a bike would get sacrificed to the fire gods. Every few minutes, someone would get brave (or drunk) enough to run through the fire. Sometimes they didn't make it all the way and would need to be rescued by their buddies. Puppies were breathing everywhere and rocket battles were going on all night.

High Point in 2000
Before the start of the 2nd 125 moto, some hillbilly starts filling a LARGE balloon with propane. We are next to the track mind you. He then takes the balloon a few feet away and starts stuffing rolled newspapers under. He then turns and looks at everyone and says "Now everyone get back!" Lights it and then BAAAAAM! It was a friggin monster explosion! I was like 50 yrds away. The ground shook and my cloths flapped like I was in a 100 mph wind gust! The entire facility just went quite. I remember the riders and mechanics on the gate turning around and looking like WTF? I still cant believe that guy did that!

Budds Creek 95
Saw the horrific Doug Henry crash. I remember I was down at what they now call the "Scrub This" tabletop and saw Doug haulin the mail from the back section approaching Henry Hill. He was in the air sooo long I had time to tap my brother on the shoulder and point it out! When he landed we thought the worst. When we were walking to our truck we saw the Medavac land and fly him out. It also sucked cause we didnt have the internet like we do now, so we coulfnt get updates. We had to wait like a week for an update.

Vegas SX's have been entertaining as well
in 99 or 2000 I cant believe how many fights we saw at one race. I think it was around 10 or so in the stands. Police had to come in force one time because dudes started beating the crap out of security! A few years later a drunk dude jumped on the track before the mains and started doing a lap running and jumping off the jumps kickin his feet out, doing spins and whatnot. For a while the track crew never caught on till the crouwd started getting louder. Dude almost made it a full lap! Was almost at the finish and he was tackled by security. Funny, the crowd started boooing cause they wanted to see him finish Laughing

I think it was 04. RC an Windam were going at it at the dilla. I turned around to wipe some dirt off my face and a couple were getting it on doggie style right behind all the fans while the race was going on.

I feel sorry for the guy cause that was one of the best races I ever saw and he missed it. LOL

The parties at Red Bud arent what they used to be IMO.

In 2000, while gathered around a huge bon fire on saturday night that people were throwing their couches they didnt want to haul back home in, I punched a guy in the side of the head just for being too loud. People offered me beers, were high fiving me and a chubby girl showed me her tits and wanted to take me to her hotel room, but I was worried about finding my buddy that had been missing for a couple of hours. Many times during the night, we would throw full beers at the "white coats" while they came at us in full riot mode.

In 2001 I took a girlfriend with me, and it was much more tame and I only got to throw one beer all night at security. Actually slept that night, compared to the year before when I slept upright for 45 minutes in the bleachers in front of the amatuer track.

In 2006, I took a different girl, and we didnt do shit, except I got drunk as hell with the guys pitted next to us, and she got embarrased and went to bed without me.

I havent bothered going since!
i raced there in 79 for the 500 national.

crazy saturday nite shit that is for sure

I can’t remember the years at High Point.

One year someone let off teargas Saturday night and sent the crowed into a frenzy. I think that was the year they brought in a bus to haul people off to jail.

Scott Sepkovic (J laws Agent) used to own a clothing company called Rip Rock. He had scaffolding built about 30 feet high with a Rip Rock banner tied around the top. The wind caught it and knocked the scaffolding over onto a car and hit a kid in the head. The kid was bleeding like a stuck pig.

Deegan was racing 125’s the year he won a supercross. He crashed in the section before the finish took off his helmet and launched it into the crowd several rows back. Lucky he didn’t kill someone. He turned around and got pelted by a ton beer cans. The fans were pissed. He left his bike and ran back to the pits like a little bitch.

While cars were stopped in line to park a bunch of WVU guy’s that were the size of football players thought it was funny to run up to the cars and dump beer on the people inside. A little hillbilly about 5’4” 135lbs got out of a car and walked up to the biggest guy there and told him he was going to kick his ass. He did. Before the big guy knew it the kid hit him a bunch of times in the head and had him on the ground kicking him. His buddies just stood there stuned.

Spectator antics: I seen the best and worst from the 70's to present. Here are a few notable things I have run across.

Pot used to grow wild at Millville and one year I saw a few top 10 riders harvesting some of the local vintage.

The river that ran through the Hangtown race in '91.

The spanking that Everts put on the world at the 98 MXdN in Foxhill. That dude was riding on a different track. Amazing the skills he has in the mud.

IMO the most unbelievable things I ever saw was at High Point in the early 80's, 83 or 84 I think. Some 125 privateer dude hid in the back woods and pulled out in the 1st moto to do some glory laps with the front runners - O'mara, Lechien, Ward, ... The AMA guys were going crazy and from what I remember the dude was on their most wanted list for years.

At Carlsbad I think late '80's, looked up just in time to see David Bailey going one way and his works Honda going the other, DB got up unhurt and someone in the crowd extended his hand with a drink in it, DB took the cup and took a big swig, I later found out what was in that cup...Wink

Watching some guys I knew pass off a friend that was too drunk as being mentally challendged to security to get him into Hangtown at pc in 82 or 83, and it worked.

Myself and 5 or 6 buddies went out on the track at sears point night before the trans ama and were swipping banners off the snow fencing, when security showed up and everyone took off running jumping snow fences. I watched my buddy catch his feet on a fence and do a spectacular face plant, the term nobody gets left behind didnt apply that night...

"77 plymouth hangtown staying at the 49er camp ground walking around the swimming pool area after midnight and came across radical ron turner smoking a doobie in short pants and hiking boots in the rain... dude gave me and my buddy jeff a handful of fmf stickers.

"76 hangtown sat night for sure, between the shit that was on fire.. naked people every were streaking. that shit was like woodstock to a 12yr old. Its too bad my buddy kamakazi didnt get too see any of it since his fat ass was back in his motorhome eatting doughnuts..
