It's coming that time of the year that all the amateurs wait for. What are some of the best stories or memories that you have from Loretta's?...

Was he jumping from the side road into the creek? We messed up a lot of bikes doing that.

Getting up early before the family wakes up. Get some biscuits and gravy with a coffee and heading down by the pond in our golf cart and watching some great racing on a pristine track.

I'm happy that Dave Coombs Sr. and Dave Jordan (the manager of Team Green in 1980) decided to put the whole Loretta's thing together in that first year. Its an absolutely great facility and a fun event.

my only memory is from the Southwest qualifier at Cedar City in about 00 or 01.

in a back and forth battle in the 125A class, i led all but the last lap, Michael Blose finally passed me for good and 3 corners from the finish Shane Bess goosed it and landed on me over a step-up. i broke a collorbone, bad concussion, and my bike was garbage.

obviously i didn't qualify, was laid up for months, and never tried qualifying again

bad memory i know, and not even of the main show, but it was a hell of a race

Pulling a top 10 Start in my last moto of 450A last year. I had been getting terrible starts all week and dealing with carnage in the back of the pack. Last moto I finally got out of the gate good and came around the first corner in 6th. Amazing how much quieter it is at the front of the pack compared to the back haha

Pulling into Lorretta's in 07, within 4 Min's of being there a rhino squeels past our motorhome and promplty rolls!

We hopped on our 3 golf carts after unloading 2 bikes and started laps!

07 was a good year... Fun...

Jim and I swapped motors between practices, then swapped back after practice!

Getting drunk with RC and watching him pay girls to show off their breast.

1988 the shop I was working at was sponsoring Lisa Akin-Wagner and I was standing
next to her husband Bobby as she made the pass on Mercedes G in the last corner for the win. No offense to Mercedes, but that was a cool moment. Same year Bradshaw went from 42nd to 1st in one of his races, that was awesome to watch as well.

In '05 Katie was in the top 10 in the first moto, I was so excited I drove the golf cart all the way up the hill to see her, of course she was nowhere to be found, she was in impound. My friend Darren Reed was the "Stand in Father" . But I got lucky and I was with her 2 more times that year in the impound area (and I met RC's Mom!).

Going to the ranch for the premier race in '82 in the 100 B class. Seeing Storbeck (YZ80) & Lechien (YZ125) gave me a new perspective. I was in disbelief of what they could jump. Storbeck was amazing that year.

Tommy Watts also was impressive in the 84-85 years. I remember seeing him wheelie a scooter like he was Doug Domokos.

Dane,
Don't forget Paul Schlegel was part of that from the start. As well as bringing SX to the Pontiac Silverdome. He was never out front but was always working the program.

Good guy for sure..............

I remember being in the beer tent in '05 with RC and Tedesco. RC was offering up the money for a show. Was a really good time.

I know that Paul was definitely involved into the amateur championships. I think that actually, he got the amateur championships started.
