Clutch problems???

Hey guys, got a kx125 and whenever I have my clutch all the way in on the stand my bikes back tyre still spins, but then also when I’m on the ground riding if I click it into first gear I have to be revving it a decent amount for it not too stall. Other bikes I’ve had and even other race bikes I’d be able to put it into first then release the clutch as slow or fast as I want to take off but with this bike if I put it into first without revs it just stalls

Could be a few things:
- oil level too high
- warped clutch plates
- worn out clutch arm
- worn out basket or hub causing drag
- clutch missing a throwout washer

Most likely the fingers of the basket are notched deeply and the plates cannot float freely.

x2 on the clutch basket. I'd be willing to bet that the fingers are notched. This image of a worn clutch basket will probably look similar to yours. Over time, the clutch plates wear grooves into the side of the basket fingers.

Option 1) remove basket and file down the grooves so the edge is smooth. Depending on how bad they're grooved will determine how effective this method is. It will get you a little more life, but will eventually fail again, albeit at a much faster rate. This is just a temporary fix.

Option 2) replace basket with a new one. There are a lot of optionshere; OEM, Rekluse, Hinson, Wiseco etc. I know Wiseco has a lifetime warranty and I think Hinson does as well, you'd have to double check. This is the best, long term fix.
