Shoutout to ARC Levers

Edited Date/Time 10/26/2020 4:48pm
Huge shoutout to ARC Levers. I pretzeled my 10 year old set and they honored their lifetime warranty with no questions asked. I was not expecting a brand new set. I’ll forever be a loyal supporter and will install them on all of my bikes.

How do you bend both of them?? Was that at the same time?

No that was throughout the course of 10 years. They never broke and endured countless enduro races. I think the warranty is voided if you try to bend them back. They were on my 2010 CRF 250R which I’m currently restoring, so it’s going to be nice being able to put on a new set.

Strongly recommend. I have the stock Magura levers on my new Husqvarna and my cousin who has the same bike, already snapped them. I don’t want to experience that so I’ll definitely be getting another set of ARC levers 👍

Get the Memlon plastic ones. Totally worth the small up charge.

Just as awesome as all of their other products

I heard of some fitment issues with newer ktms.. any truth to that?

Great product. I wouldn't run anything else. Great to hear they're also top notch with customer service.

I had them on a 2020 and they were a little sloppier than stock. If you use the wrong bolt on the brake side it is super sloppy but your ktm should have came with a larger od bolt that works.

10 years of solid use out of it and then you asked for a free set.

Come on man....

I may be in the minority here on this but if you get ten years out of a product produced by a small business, I don’t think it’s asking much to go purchase a new set. Yeah I get it, they have a warranty. But it’s not like this happened in the first 18 months. This was after ten years of abuse.

If you like the company and by the looks of it they built a product that lasts, go ahead and purchase from them. Don’t be that guy that comes back ten years later asking to be comped on something that’s obviously lasted a long long time.

Just my opinion. Really cool they honored their warranty but a total bs move to even ask after ten years of beating the shit out of them.

Had they not honored it I wonder if you would have been on here trashing them...

Technically, I paid $15 since you have to send in a check to cover return shipping and handling.

Not that I have to explain myself but I am in the process of rebuilding my 2010 CRF 250 as a project and was originally going to purchase another set of ARC levers from their site when I stumbled across their warranty. I emailed and asked if they were still honoring their warranty and they said “yes”.

For that reason, I am more than stoked because I was not expecting this outcome.

Overall, I don’t feel bad for taking advantage of their lifetime warranty program. If anything, I’ve been turned into what Peter Shankman calls, a “Zombie Loyalist”. I will do anything in my power to endorse this company and in the eyes of any company, that’s more valuable than me buying another set of levers.

Check out books by Malcolm Gladwell or Jonah Berger and you’ll quickly realize that what ARC is doing is creating loyal customers who will passionately raise brand awareness by sharing testimonies with friends, colleagues, family, etc.. When I received my levers, I immediately texted five of my closest riding buddies, created a forum post and gave them a shoutout on social media.

Not to mention that I will only purchase ARC levers for as long as I’m riding.

Small business or not if you offer a lifetime warranty you should honor it, and it doesn't seem like ARC minded. Posts like these are what's going to bring more people to purchase their levers. When OP gets his next bike and needs a set of levers who do you think he's going to call up and order from?

Whether they minded or not is beside the point. I can only image the type of customer OP must be to beat the shit out of levers for ten years and then have the audacity to go ask the company for free levers.

What if they pushed back and said well you got ten years of use out of them. I can just hear OPs voice whining about it on the phone.

This is a smart company because this was not about simply honoring their policy. This was completely bush league by OP on such a small and cheap part that OP got 10 years of use out of.

Justifying your bush league move doesn’t make it any better. I don’t care how many of your friends you texted.

You posted because you got free product under a warranty. I didn’t see any picture when they lasted for 10 years. No. Only when you were able to take advantage of their generous warranty and get something for free. Then you posted.

Why would I whine? I was expecting to pay full price when I stumbled upon their policy. If they denied it, oh well.

That’s the thing about being a keyboard warrior, you make assumptions and know nothing about the person you’re judging.

I’m a small business owner, I bend over for my customers. I endorse similar policies. “If it doesn’t fit, bring it back, no questions asked”, “if it breaks, we’ll replace it, no questions asked”, etc.. That’s what sets us apart from the big companies. Yeah, that means losing money sometimes but in the end, that’s why customers keep coming back.

Again, not the I have to explain myself to you, but I keep all my bikes in excellent shape. Although the levers that were replaced came off a 10 year old bike, it doesn’t mean that the bike was “beaten to sh**” . Gratefully, it’s not my only bike and I take great pride in taking care of my stuff.

I attached my email request to ARC. If anything it proves that ARC is an excellent company, I’ll continue to support them and when I buy a set for my Husqvarna and they bend, I’ll reach out again and send them the levers back with another $15 check.

I really like working with the guy at ARC. Nice...small machine shop. I actually sent mine in after about a year to see if the slop could be helped. He did some machining on the bushing and sent it back. Really nice product but 100 hours on these levers and they do develop a little, acceptable, amount of slop. I've never bent one because they are designed amazingly well.

Try the clutch perch if you don't have a hydraulic clutch. It's really good

I’ve got a set of Memlon levers & the RC8 clutch perch, I haven’t trashed them but the fit & feel are perfect.

Lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty. How dare you ask for your 10 year old set to be replaced lol.

Hinson have a lifetime warranty on their parts too but only if you have the receipt which I find a bit odd. The reason I say that, when my Snap-On ratchet broke I took it to a Snap-On guy that I didn’t know, the van pulled up near where I worked. He looked at it & said I haven’t got a new gear mechanism here, just have a new ratchet instead. Didn’t ask for a receipt or my name, just replaced it there & then.

Them's the facts. Im not even in the market for a set of levers, but when i am...…. i will remember this and look into ARC ones. Cool Customer service is all but non existent these days, so its refreshing to read stories like this. Reminds me of the guys over at Dubya. Great group of people who have a passion for our sport and wonderful customer service!
