What happened to the ‘claimed’ Tripes work Honda?

Edited Date/Time 9/19/2020 5:50am
I have read a lot about the claiming rule over the years, where a privateer named Roeder was able to basically buy a works Honda through that weird claiming rule. Did the guy ever race the bike? How did he do? What about spares? Ive always been curious about that. Does this bike exist today?

I can't remember if Roeder ever raced the bike or not, but he did let a local Norcal pro named Jerome Heiberger race the bike in some local races years ago.

Several years back I remember seeing something about the bike sitting in a storage container on Roeder's property for a long long time. They pulled the bike out for a look and some pics. I can't seem to find the article about it and can't remember what they actually did with the bike.

Terry Good owns the bike and pretty much in the same condition as when it was claimed.

Here’s his web sight. Always loved the 80 Mugen 125 and interesting story that went with it.

Was it in Texas that Roeder and his Dad claimed that bike?

I’ve been on that site and the museum site.
Still doesn’t answer my questions.

Everything with the museum has been postponed due to the covid shutdown. There was to be a big fundraiser this summer that has been moved to next year.
