Riders who placed in the top 5 overall in the 250B/250B Limited or 450B/450B Limited class at the 2019 National and who are 17 years or older as of January 1, 2020, are not eligible to compete in a "B" or “B/C” division. Riders who placed in the top 5 overall in the Schoolboy 1 class at the 2019 National and who are 16 years or older as of January 1, 2020, are not eligible to compete in the Schoolboy 1 class. Riders who placed in the top 5 overall in the Schoolboy 2 class at the 2019 National and who are 17 years or older as of January 1, 2020, are not eligible to compete in the Schoolboy 2 class.
So he’d have to be 16?

I may be mistaken, but per AMA/MX Sports guidelines doesn't a rider have to be at least 14 years old to ride a 250, and 16 to compete on a 450?

Rider ages 16 and under can't be "forced" to move into the A class, but they can self advance if they see fit.

I'm guessing he rode a 250 in the 450 class last year and this year.

You do realize that the track is about 10,000x rougher for pro sport than it is for B?
The B class ran some of their motos later in the days than the Pro Sport class.
The track always gets prepped immediately after the Pro Sport classes. It's at its absolute roughest when they are out there, by request of the amateur team managers, so it's by design.

Levi Kitchen was amazing and set some mind-boggling times, but he did it on a slightly easier track than what the Pro Sport had. Next year when he is likely Pro Sport, I imagine he will be even even more impressive, but might not have the fastest lap time of the week again due to what I posted above...

Not sure, if that is the case then why was Jett Lawrence “ forced “into A class as a ama 14 yr old in his first event ( mini O ) i heard Geico signed him up for b class At mini os with riders like Stilez, mastepool,Frye and other factory riders in B all older than him , but there was some kinda drama and people protesting and they made him move up to 450 A and 250 A ( prosport 250,450). So the age rule thing might not be so clear cut .

Sorry I don't have the facts/data to answer the Jett question.

The 16 year old A class rule has been around for a while now, so there must have been some other fringe situation. Example, if Jett raced A class at some other event, and then tried moving back to B, that wouldn't be allowed.

Maybe someone else out there has better detail?

Looks like we have multiple class winners who were dominant in the younger classes. For me the revelation of the weekend was Levi Kitchen winning all four motos in 250b/450b limited. The kid also had the 5 fastest lap times overall of any class. He looks really smooth and has a huge upside. Wish he was turning pro. Max Vohland had a great week but I was a little dissapointed he was riding 125b/c instead of stepping up to the 250b class. Some of these guys are capable of turning pro but who does any more before their 18+, unless your from Australia or Europe

On Friday 250B Limited ran the moto before 250 Pro Sport. Kitchen's fasted lap was a 149:9 and Stilez' fastest lap was a 149:6 in the beginning of his moto. They were the only 2 to go into the 149s in either class. That was the closest comparison in terms of track condition and Kitchen was right on pace with the top 250 Pro Sport guys.

Levi is pretty much the last rider that anyone who knows the family would call a sandbagger. He has always been one of the fastest local kids but they keep it very low key. He has picked up a ton of speed in the last year by taking an opportunity to live at a training facility for a while seriously. I don't get impressed by much but watching him ride at the RVMX Cup he made a pretty rough track look like a freeway. He will probably be going pro soon but it will be when he is ready...........

KTM cleans house in overall championships and number of bikes entered!!

It's almost scary to look at the KTM + Husqvarna combined "market share" of LL's this year.

What other stats do you want Rupe?

Jett Lawrence rode the EMX 250 series in Europe the year he raced mini Os. He moved himself up to A by riding this series.

Lorettas was really exciting this year. There were a few people that were impressive. Stilez Robertson has one hell of a week and I’m exited to see what he will do next weekend outdoor. I expect him to be top 10 around Shimoda and the rookies! Also of course Levi Kitchen was on it this week and that was insane to watch! He was definitely the best rider this past week and exciting to watch. Some other B class guys that were impressive was Chance Hymass. And especially Luke Kalaitzian who kinda came out of nowhere. But that Honda was externally fast which was really cool to see, and good to see Tony helping out someone! Last did anyone hear about the Dakota Bender kid in 250 c jr who won had cancer and survived! That is a cool story!
