This will be the first time we actually staying at the track , other years we stayed off the property.
Do they lottery off all the hookups or can you go down extra early and get one ?
If we don't get a hookup wheres the next best place to be?

The hook up spots are all lottery and for racers only. If you are dry camping you pay and then find a spot, a lot of people go the week before to get the better spots. I will tell you dry camping is expensive, I paid $300 and got there on Weds of race week, but the experience is worth it.

We camped last year and got there on Weds morning of race week and got luck and found 1 spot in lot 4 all the way down by the museum right on the river by the bridge. In my opinion was the best spot, I had my golf cart and we got a road pass and traveled back and forth to the track that way.

$300 is expensive for camping, but remember there is no spectator admission for the whole week of racing, no matter how many are in your vehicle.

DC,

You are correct. The $300 includes the spectator entry for all days. In my opinion very worth it, we love coming to LL where racing or not. Camping is very convenient for getting to the races etc

Right on and I hope to see you there again this year. Coincidentally, I've never actually stayed there in a camper or tent, I have always stayed out at the hotel at the interstate. Have to separate myself from the days and nights out there, it gets to be a little overwhelming!

Personally feel anything in the main lots should be reserved for the racers only(not just the hook ups), and spectator camping should be down the road.
That’s been the most stressful part of my experience of Loretta’s is finding a place to park.
Both years I’ve gone, I’ve showed up “a day early” and feel like I weaseled my way into the last spot my smaller toy hauler would fit in. That’s caused a small amount of tension with the people parked beside me the first couple days as well, but we really are packed in like sardines as is.

Back in 98 & 99 they had a honey wagon that went around/thru the pits to collect the waste from RVs Trailers ect. They also had fresh water tank pulled around the pits to refill the RVs/Trailers ect. Had a great time there. mb +35 & 40

Davey I’ve always wanted to know, how do you get a parking spot next to the creek between the beach and the roundabout? Always thought it was suppose to be first come first serve. Every year we’ve went taking our stuff down the Wednesday before it’s roped off?

We will be following the state of Tennessee's guidelines, in compliance with local and county officials, and everything we've learned from the Safe 2 Race task force. At this time, yes, we can have spectators as long as they practice social-distancing.

We do our best to safe all of the hook-ups and prime spots for actual racers but sometimes folks come in with their grandparents' motorhome too. Spectators don't really show up until the Tuesday start of racing, and by then all of the spots are usually gone.

Below the roundabout is where Cobra parks every year, across from Factory Connection. Going upstream from there is usually our officials and the folks who cook all of the food for our staff and flaggers each year, as well as some race officials so they are close to the track, registration, impound and staging areas. I don't think there's much in the way of hook-ups on that side of the road.

So if we plan to arrive Saturday mid-morning (yes, we are racing), we are still pretty much screwed? All of the decent spots will be gone?

Correct, getting there Saturday mid morning you will be in Stewertville Lot 3 towards the back.
This will be our 9th year racing and usually end up in Lot 3 which really is not that bad as long as you have a pit vehicle.

grand scheme, nobody really 'screwed' as it's all level. Everything is broadcasted on the radio. You can park anywhere. And you can get a road pass if you're way down yonder.

Couple questions I have for first time going:

Read you have to be 16 to operate a pit vehicle/pit bike. Do they really enforce that?

When/how do you find out what number your kid has to run? Did the 3 choices yesterday.

That’s when I’ve arrived and yeah most everything is gone. I legit think I grabbed the last possible spot the last 2 years before having to be sent down the road. If I had any bigger toyhauler(mine is 23’) or motorhome I wouldn’t have found a spot.
Parked over by McGrath blvd both times. Not sure what lot that is.
People get rude too and sprawl themselves out excessively. Also had people tell me they paid Mxsports extra money to reserve their spots which I didn’t think you could do.

Yes they enforce the 16 year old's driving pit vehicles, they employ off duty police officers and check kids that look to young. Mostly in the evenings.
MX sports will post the rider rooster for your class, at that time you will get your number, it will be after 7/14 as that is the last day to register.

Thanks. Guess I’ll go ahead and request a refund for one of our pit passes and just bring the golf cart and bicycles for the kids

Is there any good or decent tracks within an hour of LL or Nashville? Not racing LL, but coming up there for two weeks during and staying in Nashville, and thinking about bringing my bike if there’s any tracks worth riding. Thanks

Try and park up on Stagecoach Hill. It was about 10 degrees cooler up there then it was down by the track last year. At least it felt like it with all the shade around. Just bring some boards to get yourself level.

You can only park there if you win the hookup lottery , right ?

No you don't have to win the lottery to park up there. There are some spots without hookups, one whole really flat area up by the cabins and then down the hill towards the store that is across the street there is plenty of room. That area just isn't as level. Thats why I said make sure you bring some boards to get yourself level. I ended up using some cinder blocks on the tongue of my trailer to help with movement.
