I've gotten a few more since this thread started. The wife got me a white face stainless Daytona for our 30th and I got sucked in for a Milgauss Blue Z when we went to visit the son out in North Carolina a short while back. The green crystal over the blue face gives an amazing look to the Milgauss. Love a nice watch...

It’s amazing the quality of watch you can get for $150 now. Orient has their own in-house movement. The crystal and finish would have been a $500 watch 10 years ago. I took this shot today to commemorate Leap Year 2020.

If you want to be an astronaut, you need a chronometer. It saved Apollo 13 in timing the burns. As far as I know, It's still mandatory to have an automatic chronometer in space flight. Could be wrong though although I'm usually never wwwwwroong! This is my Hamilton automatic with Swiss movement now that the USA doesn't so them anymore. Genuine Vietnamese croc band and more than $150 but a lot less than a Rolex. Smile

A Hamilton is a great watch.

Rolex and IWC are must haves. Breitling and Omega should be available too in a proper watch place.

I love looking at these watches. Maybe some day I can fit a higher end watch into my budget.

About 10 years ago, my go to watch guy here in town had a set of these that I was hot for. Still am...Laughing

After reading this thread I've decided I know squat about watches. But I want a new G-shock Master something. I'd love to get a Gulf Master but may settle on a Mud Master. Looking for something with LONG battery life, easy to read in low light and smoke or dust, with barometer and altimeter at least. Just haven't found the right place to get one. Too many knock-offs to trust Amazon or E-bay.

Can’t go wrong with a G-Shock. I like the solar powered ones. A charged battery can go 8 months without exposure to light. A necessary tool for any zombie apocalypse survivor.

Ah, I just saw the altimeter and barometer needs. Check out the Casio Pro Trek series.

Have a bi metal submariner which is nice as mass produced stuff goes. The absolute dream would be a watch by Roger Smith, the Series 5 Open Dial.

To keep it short, I am opening up a brick & mortar watch (wrist and pocket) shop with a partner. On the low-end we would like to do lines like Nixon and Torgoen, on the high, lines like Roger Dubuis and Hublot. While I realize that there might not be a lot of "watch guys" here on Vital, if anyone is, what brand of watches are you buying? What brands would you die to see in a store that you could actually see/hold/try-on?
gt80rider,

I actually own my own timepiece company geared towards the moto/auto community. I've built it from the ground up over the past 2 years. It's been a challenge, and racing moto over the years has taught me a lot of lessons I never thought would transfer over to this. As a moto guy, I've always been into watches, and starting a watch brand was something I've always wanted to do so I went for it. If you want some in your store I'd love to help and congratulations!

Bhack711 - nice watches. I’m curious if they hold up with the vibration of a motorcycle. My brother is giving me my first road bike next weekend.

That thing is sweet, I had to get rid of my cb350 last fall. My friend has actually been wearing the watch while doing motos and mountain biking with no issues! He's been one heck of product tester

The subliminal elegance of a man and his watch is best captured during the most meaningful moments of ones life.

Yesterday I added to my collection. It’s an extraordinary digital watch for $100. Shock resistant, mineral glass, waterproof 200m, Multi-band 6 Atomic Timekeeping (amazing to watch calibrate), and solar powered.

The North American radio signal base is in Fort Collins, CO so a long ways from here. Last night when I brought it home I couldn’t get it to calibrate. It must have been the hurricane blocking the signal. Today it auto-synchronized twice to match the displayed time at the website: https://time.gov/

Do people think that wearing watches is becoming obsolete ?
I enjoy them and value them but I wonder how many people think of them as an unnecessary item now

I only wear a watch (polar unite) to track my heartbeat. I’ve never worn one daily in my life till about a month ago when I started light heart rate training.
If I was going to get some bling I would get a breitling though.
