Alpinestars Faster 3 Shoes???

Looking for some opinions on these shoes. Has anyone on here owned a pair? I bought a crf50 for some pit bike racing and was thinking they might be a nice middle ground between skate shoes and actual moto boots. Thanks.

Those will get torn up quick. The soles are very thin as they are driving shoes. They won’t offer any more protection than a skate shoe, aside from maybe some more ankle support, and actually may be worse because they are so thin and light.

Appreciate the input. I thought those were more for streetbike riding but these Drystar riding shoes seem like a better option. I have a pair of tech 2's and I feel like even those are too big for a stock 50. Looking for something with a strong sole and good ankle protection while still being more of a shoe than a boot.

I wear them for street. They're comfortable and they're not supersport moon boots. Had a nice 65mph get off a while ago on the highway and they're still holding strong.

However, the sole is a little "slick" for moto pegs. I've thrown them on real quick to kick start a bike or take it for a test ride as they're handy in the garage and slip on/off faster than my 8lb tech 7's. I wouldn't want to ride any type of offroad in them. The protection is much better than a pair of Van's, but the soles just do not bode well for that type of riding as your feet are moving around on the pegs a little more than street riding. It's also a PIA to kick start anything with them.

Edit: the drystar is a much better choice.

Gaerne makes some great trials boots that bend enough for pit bikes.
