Kenny also mentioned, in a recent RacerX interview with Weigandt, they would be receiving the new bike soon and he is looking forward to testing it. I would assume it is just a question of: how long was production halted in Japan due to Corona which postponed their release schedule.

From Movers and Shakers this season so far....

Roczen has passed 19 riders.
Tomac has passed 73 riders.

It’s something, he can go from being the fastest guy on the track to 10 minutes later being 2-3 seconds off. The talent is there. Will most likely never see pre injury Ken but at least he still gives you moments.
In fairness Roczen has done that multiple times pre injury. Go watch the second half of the 2012 250 motocross season.

Kenny seems like such a good dude and his talent is unquestionable. That being said I’ve struggled to like him since his 250 days for this very reason. Every time he gets beat it’s an excuse. Hell I remember him saying something about his boot buckle being unhooked and distracting once after a loss. He’s come through some brutal crap no doubt and I want to root for the guy but excuses over the years and these posts just loose me. Never hear crap when he’s out front cruising to wins 🤔

I remember that, it was at Muddy Creek and his boot was pretty much hanging off to the point where you could see his sock. Definitely more than enough to be a distraction.

I hate that as soon as a rider opens up on issues they’re having people see it as excuses. He finished 25 seconds off the lead on Wednesday and it was blatantly obvious to see the drop off in the second half of the main.

Hanging off to the point of seeing his sock? Uh nope. I’m not trashing Ken here. It’s just a pattern he has and it keeps me from giving him the respect he truly deserves that’s all. I’ve said before it may be how he’s wired as a professional athlete? Possibly not letting himself believe he got beat straight up to continue to mentally believe he’s superior. I honestly don’t know why he does it but I don’t believe I’m imagining it, and obviously there’s other people that picked up on it too.
Uh, yep. I remember clearly it happening. There’s a difference between getting beat straight up and what happened to Kenny on Wednesday. He went from being one of the fastest and most aggressive on the track early on to nearly getting caught by Wilson at the end. That doesn’t happen without reason. If you want to put it down to him not being mentally strong enough to accept getting beat then you do that, but you’re wrong. He’s been through a lot worse than getting beat

Well, its 2020,. If. If if doesnt count. If tomac didnt crash on the honda, he would have won another title and more races. But i m not worried about 4-5 years ago what ifs.. We are talking current, only thing that counts now.

Whatever the reasons, Kenny was hired to deliver and hasn't done so. This is business to Honda who want to win.

You realise he is running second in points right?
Second? As in 1 and then 2.

So by your logic everyone should be sacked and all manufacturers should hire ET3!!

Never seen a group of supporters that are so quick to rubbish the stars of the sport as this crowd.
No no no! Its far deeper than that. Im not expecting Honda to drop Roczen like a stone immediately.

It hasn't been "a couple average results" has it?
He was employed 1/1/17 at the top of his game. As a winner. He was employed, to win.
He's had injury, missed series, recovery, injury, build up, illness, win, illness, win, excuses..

Honda are now three and a half years in to a multi-million dollar investment that hasn't paid off. Do they stick it out? Do they begin to look for someone else who can deliver?
Even if they aren't a winner now, Honda are looking for a winner within the next 2-3 years. Who can deliver that prestigious 450 championship?

You can't deny Kenny has been a disappointment for Honda. Realistically, how many years has he got left? The same amount as Eli maybe? With mental momentum in Eli's favour, will he ever beat Eli to a championship again?

He signed new deal last year. This is first year of three of the new deal. If Honda wanted to sack him they had a chance. I know you would, but they are smarter than you.

Stick it out. Dumbass...

Wow, isn't that a brilliant take. You know what? If only I started riding at an earlier age, I would have been a sx champ too. See how stupid that sounds?
As far as people trying to call out his statement, Kenny really has never given us a reason to doubt anything he's said. Why start now?

THIS... Say what you want about Eli but I’ve never seen the guy come to the table with excuses, even after a head scratching performance. Occasionally something will leak out through the grape vine a week or so after a race(see fence building Eli). Contrast that with Kenny where literally EVERY time he has an off race he blames either the motorcycle setup or a mysterious illness. FYI- l Iove kroc but let’s call a spade a spade.

No man, just cognizant of the facts is all. Show me a post race interview or presser of Eli complaining about his bike setup or giving excuses for his performance. Take your time, I’ll be waiting.

Honda recruitment team will be looking further than the end of their nose.
A bit like KTM we’re when they decided to employ Webb.
It’s not about who is better right now, it’s about who can be moulded in to a winner for the future.

Yea that’s what i thought, mate... I love Kenny but stating he virtually always has an excuse lined up after a poor performance is no different than saying he rides a red bike. They’re both simply facts easily supported by empirical evidence.

So you say it's a normal Roczen performance to get lapped twice? Has he ever actually been lapped once in his life?
