If ever there were a time to try a chase type of format...

this would be the season to try it. I'm personally not a big fan of the idea, but either way, whoever wins the title, it just won't seem the same as a true 17 round week in week out series.

It would be but I know two teams that wouldn't go for it. Maybe they can have a separate CoronaVirus championship for who ever scores the most points in the last 7 rounds. The championship trophy could be a bronzed N95 mask.

There never was , there's not now , nor will there ever be a good time to try a chase format.

Nah...reminds me too much of "Never let a good crisis go to waste..."

Realistically, whoever in the top 4's hot and consistent (in the remaining rounds) will win the title. Problem solved.

Given the way the season imploded, I think it would be kind of exciting.

You can't just change the rules half way through the season. Having said that, Never is the right time for a "chase".

I don't mind the chase, as I think anything that levels the points race is good for spectating – although of course it can go the other way and people lose interest because it's not core...

But regardless, I don't think do it now. Anything that historically makes this year less of the norm is not going to be good. I want a champ between these two, they deserve it and they deserve it without any bullshit asterisks.

Feld is already in a chase format.
They're chasing for the right date, stadiums and globally, solutions to restart racing.
