Resident quad guy here. I've raced with Wienen, Brown, Upperman, Creamer and Natalie. Mind you they were all faster than me by a large margin, very very large.

No way JB is faster than most of the Pro-Am class let alone being close to the top guys in pro. I've spun plenty of laps on 2 wheels and its a completely different animal when you're trying to get 400lbs to co-operate with you around a track.

Not one person on this forum is hanging with Wienen or Hetrick. Not close.

From what I've seen JB is going to ride with Nick Gennusa. He's top 5 in Pro and his annual Turkey Derby is the coolest pitbike/pitquad race there is. SHould be interesting, but my money is on Nick having the faster combined time by a good margin.

I'll +1 this^^^^^^^^. Some people on this forum have absolutely no friggin clue WTF they are babbling about when it comes to pro level quad guys.

Topic made me think of these:

Isaac Teasdale on his CRF250 and Joel Hetrick on his TRX450 at Club MX.

Cornering on a 4 wheeler requires WAY WAY less technique and balance than cornering on 2. There’s no comparison. They essentially drift through every corner.

You have absolutely no idea how wrong you are. There is so much finesse that goes into the body positioning, steering effort, line selection, dealing with the ruts/whoops through the corners, not to mention keeping the ATV from over or understeering while sliding the rear end. There is a whole lot of technique that goes into going around a corner that frigging fast, to try to assert otherwise is absolutely ridiculous.

The best part of quads is jumping. Oh, how wonderful it is when you are a juuuuuuuust a bit short and clip the rear. It sometimes rebounds too much, kicks you over the friggin bars and then proceeds to follow you like a lost puppy...and run you over.

Isn't most the hate from how they absolutely destroy a track? If I wanted blue-groove flat corners I'd sign up for flat-track. With the laziness of many track owners, once those corners get packed, their half-assed drag job will keep it like that forever.

I'm just trying to do the math here. So, it's not okay to profile the wheelie boys but it is okay to profile people that ride/race four wheelers? Got it.

Can I start a thread about all the Suburu driving, fag mountain bikers that take over the trails that were built by motorcycles? You know the ones, they are the guys/gals that string fishing line across the trail right at neck height to knock you off your bike or worse. Yes, that happens.

BTW, I'm not a quad guy. I am also not someone that bashes and profiles a community that helps keep the Powersports Industry open. You know, the same industry in which people start threads here wanting to know how to keep it alive?

Rant over

What if they find a decent vet guy and check the % off their regular fast lap with Joel Hetrick?

The few times I raced a quad, I can tell you that the physical part whooped my ass much more so than on my bike.

I think quad races should be run on a figure 8 track.

Too bad hammy wasn't comparing his lap times to someone like deano. I feel he would have fun with it and make a video trying to figure the thumb throttle.

Again, those who talk shit on actual quad racing/racers likely suck on their own bikes. Just have that opinion to try and feel cool.

Prove me wrong. Are you talking shit, but you're not a spode?

I will say when we started loosing MXON in 2012 I was really pissed about it. Then someone posted that we whipped everyone’s ass in the quad MXON and I watched the whole thing and felt a lot better. It was an awesome race and “we” smoked the competition. Of course I didn’t tell anyone I watched the whole thing and liked it. I couldnt do that to my dad

Wienen, Brown and Hetrick are all so fast in person it seems to defy physics. Those guys are aliens.

probably should just tell your dad you accidentally got a little fat fingered while scrolling PH and end up in the dark corner of the Hub with some MM action. i think he'd understand that better than knowing you purposely searched out and watched an entire quad race.

1 the whoops are tiny
2 that on off has a huge lip
3 I’ll jump everything on that track on a quad
Quads take no skill, any pro two wheel guy can go win a quad race, but I’d be willing to bet that no pro 4 wheelers can run up front in mx. Sorry guys, it’s just not the same thing

Lol. I agree just putting around on a quad takes no skill but going fast on a motocross track is a different story and I agree the track he's riding is not a true supercross track but that doesnt mean its easy, especially on a machine with 3" of suspension travel. And you're probably right any pro two wheel guy probably spend a week training and go win a quad race (in the C class) just like pro bike guys pro quad guys have been doing it since they were kids and its not possible to go faster on a quad than they do.

You don’t think I’ll jump everything on that track on a quad? I’ve actually ridden quads on moto tracks quite a bit, my dads girlfriend was all into quads(it didn’t last) and I’d mess around on her 450 and I remember thinking, this is pretty lame
