I was feeling good, I was happy. I asked the mecanic "Hey, what are Herlings's lap times here ?"
"He is 10 seconds faster."
I said "yeah, but the track was perfect at that moment ?"
"No, no, he is 10 seconds faster.".

I would not believe it. It's not the type of track you can take 10 seconds. It was flat, tables, good prep, nice ruts, lap times about 1min50.

At the time, I was around 10-12 in MXGP. Usually, in gp's, if you are 3 seconds a lap slower than the leader, you are in the top 5.

Last year, I was in the USA for a couple rounds, and I was around 15th in qualification not far from Cooper Webb, and that day we were about 2 or 3 seconds slower than the top 3 and their fastest laps.

"10 seconds ?" I was eating my lunch, and I was thinking about it the whole time. "10 seconds ? I would like to see that.".

Jeffrey Herlings arrived at the end of the day. Boom, he was 10 seconds faster than me. This man is incredible. We didn't changed, we are not slower, it is just that now there is this type of dudes..."
In my opinion, no one can touch Herlings outdoors. He is on another level.

Considering it's taken from a podcast and I'm guessing, just guessing, that Todd didn't transcribe it, it's just a typo.

Yes pick Tomac worst day at a mud race and on a new bike Take his worst finish as a gauge of how good he is That’s how you get biased results.

Herlings is an absolute beast and there are only a few who can hang with him Sadly we won’t get to many chances to see all the best race the same series.

When I was in Indiana national In 2018 he was ,the majority of time, 4 seconds faster then everybody else.It was amazing to see him ride in person.

An outdoor national track or gp isn’t what we are talking about.

Ten seconds on those tracks is a way different thing than ten seconds on a normal not rough practice track. That’s enough to blow a guys mind. You know maybe if they hang it out they could get 3 or 4 but 10 is impossible.. and then it’s done.

Yes, I know you know these things.

Any one got tomacs mxgp results ?

Using red bud mxon as an example, I know it’s an excuse but how good to do tomac do on that new bike for the first half of supercross while trying to get it sorted ?
He was getting beat by people who couldn’t even get close to him normally

AC and JH84 up the pace in second moto and blew him away

Said he could learn a lot from these guys
