What are the pros of changing just one clamp?
A bit more rigidity instead of a lot more rigidity?
Im new to this...

I run 70-75psi depending on track also seems like it has been increasing over time either im getting heavier or its breaking in. here is a review I found

I run 100 in the spring/air setup. They are different then the straight air setup and require different pressure. Here is the review on those clamps

What year did they significantly reduce the vibration on this motor? Was it 2016 or 2017?

Anyone run the 300 kit for moto? Thoughts?
I put 10 hrs on a kit on mine. It was good for really wide open tracks and very sandy, but too much for everything else. Also felt less revvy/250-like. Could probably ride it like a 450 and be very efficient and fast, but that’s not as fun IMO.

Put another 2hrs on mine the other day.... the whole time all I could think about was how many hrs are on my stock piston! Time to tear it down I guess...thanks a lot guys👍.....the stock vertex pistons in all mY KTM”s have always held up good.... I will buy another cast Vertex. I read on Slavens web site and they state : bikes with over 50hrs they use the group 2 piston, which has a slightly larger O.D. For guys that have replaced top ends already, did you use another Vertex? If yes. Group 2 ? Also, what did you guys end up with for base gasket thicknesses? I will do a compression test before teardown....

I used OEM gaskets and a Wossner piston. Measure your old gasket coming off the bike and match that to the new one you buy (if all is in spec). I guess you could also buy every option of base gasket and test fit them.

Looks like Slavens has a complete top end kit for the build, comes with 3 base gaskets to get the correct settings & his ez circlips, which I have used before as the standard vertex pin clips are a PITA....

I have ran Vertex pistons since 2005 without any problems and I'm going continue using them in the future as well. I change pistons 50 hour intervals to my 2016 250SX and pistons look still good as new but I don't want to push my luck.

I’ve run vertex in mine, also 50sx and 65sx. No problems at all and I’ll continue to use them. Always cracks me up when someone bags on a certain brand without any proof and acting like they’re destroying engines everywhere.

Have a 17 TC250. If you like 2-strokes, then you’ll have a hard time going wrong with 250SX or TC250.

Has good power, handling, suspension (once setup), and quality. I sold both of my 3rd gen Hondas after getting this one.

Also to note: I like the feel of the frame on my 19 FC350 slightly better than the 17. Feels a little less flexible/tighter/more precise.

I like stock gearing or a 48 tooth rear. Have tried a variety of engine configs also: stock head, shaved head, shaved head with extra base gasket, 300 kit, PC pipe with both silencers, PWK swap, STIC insert, and probably other things. All had pros and cons.

Almost 77 hrs on mine.

Very interested in your STIC experience, is it worth the cost/jetting work for the power gains?

It’s a good question.

With the STIC and the PWK on my TC250, it pulls harder than PWK-only from when you open the throttle through the full RPM range. More over-rev also. It sounds nice on paper to me, but the reality was it was too much of a good thing for my riding style and tracks in the area.

For more open tracks, desert, or if you have talent to spare, then it’s easy power. On par with a ported cylinder easily and reversible if you don’t like it.

I bought it originally for my 150 SX and have it back on there. The extra midrange and top end pull is more manageable on a 38 HP engine vs. a 48-50 HP one.

PC. More power and more importantly more over rev.
