It's definitely in the ballpark for pricing, but at least it looks clean. Worst comes to worse, if the top end blows, just buy a new (new to you) cylinder instead of using a sleeve. No big deal. Buy it, ride it, fix it, ride it, love it. People used to love that bike.

It may or may not be a good buy. Looks OK from a few pics, but that's only a small part of the story. You keep saying the guy is "honest", how do you know that? If the cylinder is really sleeved and not re-plated, that's reason enough to move on. Anyone who sleeves a cylinder is doing questionable work at best. You said the rims and tires are new. That rear tire doesn't look new to me.

Just my 2 cents.

Yea i get you im still 50/50..hes in no rush its been already like 2 weeks i told him id get back to him but its still posted says many people are low balling him and actually never even came to see the bike im the first person to actually drive out....yea he gave me info on where it was worked on and invoice number At lukesracing they bore the cylinder and use a process called Nikasil. I don't know if this is sleeving or plating...i think im gonna call tommaro..also gave me pistion number....thanks guys
Nikasil is plating. It's sounding and looking better now. Personally, I'd still look for something newer. I don't know much about RM's, but splitting the cases to do the water pump sounds pretty lame.

if that bike was within an hour or two of mine id buy it. Just look at the shock body wear, its a low hours bike.

there isnt much more fun than spending $1500 on that bike right now. it even has an aftermarket head.

I would totally buy that bike dude. Why not? Everyone saying you’ll have to split the cases to change the water pump. How hard are you going to be riding where you’ll be changing water pumps left and right lol?

I bet you won’t change the water pump in that thing for like 3-4 years if that.

1 Remove the air filter and make sure the air boot is clean.
2 The aftermarket head was probably to change the squish/compression and may require race fuel to run properly.
3 If it has a sleeve that has not be re-plated I wouldn't buy it. As others have mentioned you can find the newer model for
about the same price.
