Nice job Lars. Very strong ride in both moto’s

I'm watching the second MX2 moto again. That ride from Geerts is what champions do.

How good is that new Honda when they are able to put 2 starts like that from the other side of the gate?

Gajser improved but i really believe that Honda also made a big step into this succes. Also for Evans who had been riding really good with it, sadly now his injury but that bike looks on point!

Big shout out for Shaun Simpson.. 4th in race 2 on a fully private bike , and was an easy 5th in race 1 when he went down very hard. Made a lot of factory guys look very ordinary today

From dead last both moto's to 9th and 7th, pretty good ride.

Vollenberg Tuning can make some really good engine’s! Been doing that for years in the 250/450 GP class.

Just got done with the MX2 motos, and holy crap is this class exciting. It has it’s own version of Herlings vs Gajser in Geerts vs Vialle, but the amount of guys behind them is absolutely INSANE! One can podium one moto and fight to get a top 10 in the next. And I do believe a handfull of these guys can mix it up for wins when the conditions are normal.
But I have to say I feel bad for TKO. He seemed to be the next guy in line for a couple of years, and now when it should be his turn everything just goes south.

Is that the same Tuner he used a few years ago ?

There's some very, Very clever Tuners / Engineers in Europe / Britain, that don't have the industry / advertising profile and hype of some, elsewhere. They just get on with things, and churn out fantastic, often innovative, workmanship and engineering .

Correct, Volleberg Motorsport. They go way back to the days when Shaun rode MX2 at KTM UK back in the day and finished 4th in the championship I think. And other situations after that as well. Remember the year he won the GP Lierop? I’m pretty sure that was on a Volleberg tuned Yamaha back then.

Yes it’s the same tuner. He has worked before with him, if believe even early KTM 250 day’s before RedBull.

Also most of the Standing Constructs 250 GP days they also went to this tuner and got some really got bikes and wins and podiums with Coldenhoff and others.

If I’m correctly Vollenberg did also the Suzuki 250 of Coldenhoff in his last year. That thing was also a rocket, sadly he got injured early that year.

There’s a nice article about them in On-Track Off-Road issue 87 (from page 32) for the ones who are interested.

That was amazing Geerts gained a new fan here!
I'd sort of got into the habit of skimming through Mx2 on the replay before MXGP , but not anymore

To be fair, I don't think Desalle had much choice , he was wedged solid and getting around that track with that stuck in your bike wasn't really an option.
Respect to both of them.

That sucks about Moosdijk. There’s a lot of guys out there who will look at the postponement of Trentino as a blessing. Guys like Roan, Mitch Evans who are injured. Or Prado and Cairoli who are racing but not 100%. They only have one more race to get through and then they have almost a month to get back in shape

Tough home-GP for Gebben Van Venrooy: Both Vlaanderen and Lupino DNF-DNF and Covington DNS-DNS.
The same for F&H Kawasaki: Haarup and Boisramé DNF'ed one race and Vd Moosdijk broke his ankle. Feel bad for them.

I lost my voice rooting for Geerts. Man, what a race for him. Maybe I'm a little bit demanding, but I've got the feeling if he didn't crash in the second lap at Matterley Basin or in the start at Valkenswaard, he could've gone 1-1-1-1....

Can't wait for Argentina!

I just listened to the MX Vice post race podcasts and the good news regarding Evans is that it's his first ever time that he has dislocated his shoulder and he aims to be back for Spain. And who knows what happens with the schedule now that the virus is gaining momentum.

Geerts is a beast but he has to stay off the ground. His starts are great and he has the raw speed and pace to battle with the Redbull KTM‘s.I hope he will win this championship.

True. The smaller "European-GP-only-teams" and the privateers now have almost 6 weeks time to train and/or recover for the Spanish round.

I want to know who decided to have the start device of Hofers bike so far down that it didn't click off. Lupino and Freek Van Der Vliest also had issues.

How the expect it to click off when the first left right is virtually flat with no braking is beyond me. Maybe a contributor to the Geerts crash and the pile up in Moto 2 of MXGP.

They should only be allowed to run what they can do themselves, as we are in Supermoto, once you go off on your sight lap you are on your own, and we generate way more force to click them off on tarmac.

I don’t know why they even use a start device, if everyone is using one, what’s the advantage?

The advantage is that they are not at a disadvantage by not running one

Because they make a massive difference. And if you don't have one , you get mugged. We have had to set ours aggressively because we don't have launch control on out SM bike , and have to hold the bike on the front brake , to stop us creeping, and if the don't have It set well down, it will click off on its own, and you get pinged for moving at the start.

I think Cairoli got to the first jump last year at Valk with his on, and I think Jonass did in race 2 .

Same with launch control , its like cheating, till everyone has it.
