Gajser rode insane, but watching Herlings, he isn't herlings. Beaten in the sand

Herlings overtaken on the first lap by a guy who started on the outside and came round the first turn in 15th and then gets gapped by 21 seconds in the deep sand.

Is this a new Herlings who has now turned into Ryan Dungey and is happy with scoring decent points or is there something wrong?

I'm not taking anything from Gajser, he's the real deal and is more than capable of beating Herlings, but it just doesn't seem right for Herlings to be annihilated so easily.

He doesn’t look on top form but I honestly don’t think he was that bad. He was 20 seconds ahead of 3rd and 40 ahead of 4th. Just Gajser was incredible

Talk about making a statement
And people still think he won last year's title because 84 and 222 were out. That guy is the real deal
Last weekend was the statement! Tim smashed Herlings by 20+ seconds in that second moto!

Best bit for neutrals and season ahead? We're not relying on a 34 (and soon to be 35) year old, to challenge, one of the fastest MXGP riders in history, in Jeffrey Herlings!

He was speed of up the last 10 min but not enough.
Herlings don't like mud races, so if he's doing damage control he's smart, if he can't go faster he have a problem.

Horrible crash just before the finish line, shame as he was riding great.

You're trying harder to understand what's wrong with Herlings, than what's right with Gasjer.

So yeah, "not taking anything from Gasjer"...

I think we are in for a great 2nd moto.. Herlings must be pissed of and angry about this moto and want to win his home GP. Most likely he will go all in from the start 2nd moto... Yep that would the real or the old Herlings do...

3 moto’s in and he looked way uncomfortably in 2 of them but still holds te red plate. Will see how this works and what he will do in the 2nd one!

Im here, and i have watching him riding here several times. He struggles. Strange thing he was riding laps in 2 min+, only gajser was under that. Then in lap 12 he rode a 1.56. Don't get it

He was atleast jumping the waves towards the end of the lap, that looked really fast. That sticked out to me.

BTW Gajser got 5 gifts the first half lap with crashes of Seewer,Tonus,Jonass,Jacobi and Coldenhoff.

End results would not have been different IMO, but he got a bit lucky to be in P3 that early.

Jonass needs to chill a bit down, all over the places this weekend and taking guys out.

He is also sending the wall before the finish line. Everybody stays low or scrubs a bit and he is just jumping over the wet stuff after it. Keeps so much more speed over that wall thing.

great first moto for Gajser and he looked more like Herlings 2018 as Herlings himself , but now im curious to see what Herlings can do second moto ? if it is a mindset , he should win second moto and the GP .
If Gajser beats him again , Herlings got a real problem this season ...Herlings looked off yesterday in quali and today in first moto , dude is struggling on this track while Gajser is the one floating around and making it look easy .

so with a few weeks throw in Prado and Cairoli and we are ready for best season in a long time

Herlings didn’t seem to flow at all like he usually does. Meanwhile Gajser was doing exactly what Herlings usually does, keeping the momentum up, railing outsides and keeping out of the rougher stuff. And he looked like he barely broke a sweat.

Herlings was 20 seconds ahead of 3rd, 40 ahead of 4th.

If Gasjer wasn't there, it'd be considered somewhat normal service!

I’m here too and have watched Herlings either here, Lommel or Lierop every year since 2012 too. I said he wasn’t on top form, but he wasn’t that bad. Even when he somewhat found his flow Gajser matched him. You have to give him credit

I love when the English get in little spats on here, I get to learn new insults. LOL

243 was on the gas no doubt but anyone can see even yesterday Herlings is a little off his game.

That based on belief, and seems like I was wrong. But Herlings really don't like himself, or I'm a blind fanboy.
Go figure
