The bit they took out is where we watch from but it holds loads of water and is very one line.. track length is irrelevant in a timed race. It used to be a bit like this back in the day, so we will see. They have added and taken away slow bits in the past.. from a pic i saw earlier the uphill waves are gone too with just a hump on the inside.
The wave section near the point #4 disappeared and the following corner too.Damn, that was a spectacular section.Sad

Damn, I think I have to swallow the pill and spend the 130 € for the MXGP-TV season pass. Anybody got a voucher or something?
It’s the best money you’ll spend brol as the coverage is bad ass and soo much racing going on it’s crazy!!

I was 1 line after half a race. Taking stuff out makes for more lines.

Actually imo that had more to do with the small 'chicane' they used to have (between section 2 and 3 on the map) after the first jump. That pushed all riders to the same racing line on the waves section.
It looks like they cut the 'chicane' but also the waves. Imo if you cut the chicane and have them all go straight to the waves after the jump then the waves would have been multi lined. But maybe the speeds would have been to fast for the waves without a chicane.

I really liked the section to watch, but last year there was almost no passing on the waves on sunday.

I wouldn’t be sure they’ve cut the waves, they just might not be marked on the track map. There is also normally waves at section 9, 14 and before the finish and they aren’t marked either. I’ll go into the track and have a look soon

The new layout is absolutely terrible. Got rid of the place where you used to to be able to get closest to the riders at any circuit on the calendar and replaced it with a section you can’t get within 40ft of

I was afraid of this scenario... damn' it, I know sometimes changes have to be made, but also sometimes a track is good the way it is. The Valkenswaard layout seems to become shorter by the decade.

I think maybe the weather hasnt let them get it finished.. tunnel under the jump that you cant get too seems daft. We had a shower here for 10 mins but under the 2 inches of slop its still hard and dry .. and its raining again lol.. seriously though, just like last week, it will ride into being a good track.

Just walked around and the track is good. It will stay dry for the entire weekend so up for some good racing! The upgraded turn looks great. They also removed the step-up after the start for a single jump
