Good luck on this build. I just picked up a 98 KX125 that I will be doing a budget version of a splitfire build (if there is such a thing!) and am enjoying seeing all the work you are doing on yours.

I don't think there is a such thing as a budget build pro circuit bike.

Good points. They always seem to start out in my mind as a "budget build" and ultimately turn into "How much did I spend on this thing?!?!?!"
Sorry to hijack thread. Great work thus far!

Been too hectic to get too involved with this project for a while due to University commitments, but just finished last week so keen to progress it. I've still kept an eye on all sites for the rare parts i need and have located some good stuff lately, some still on their way from America but will post pics when they arrive.

Bought a NOS Honda CR125 complete front brake master cylinder assembly

NOS Flo Green UFO Front plate/Radiator Shrouds/Front fender. The black bits are available still through UFO so i'll buy those later down the line when the project nears completion.

Should be a real nice bike Chuck. Seems the only hard parts to find will be the rear brake, shock, and mag clutch case. That's good they ran stock hubs too then. Otho g better than a fresh powder coated flo green frame!
Cheers Rob! Hopefully, and yeh easy with stock hubs although i know of a set of KHI for sale now so i kinda wish they did...

The rear Braking disc kit i think will be the hardest bit to find, i may not be able to find one before farleigh but i can add that on in future. You're the only guy in the world i know who has one!

Over a year after posting this I now have the exact Braking 230mm rear rotor needed for the build. It came with a 94-96 Billet 230mm Caliper bracket too (needs a clean), but need the KXR97 (97/98 fitment version), so the search continues...

Finally got myself a Berg Racing carbon Fork Lug Guard, and an as-new one at that! Safe to say these things are quite rare now...

Picked up the correct KXR97 bracket so now have the correct bracket and rotor.

Sorry for the slow progress, but these exact parts that he used aren’t exactly available to buy off the shelf...

Thanks for the pic bud, I have a KHI 125 ignition cover but it needs the Dow9 coating redoing. I'll try and get this done eventually if i don't find another case in the meantime.

KHI Radiators. Second pic shows the difference to stock rads. KHI are 12 core instead of 11, with the left hand rad 1" longer with a different style lower tank. Was really excited with these, never seen a set for sale ever, let alone a new set!

I'm really jealous of the NOS stickers. I wish mine had metal flake that looked that good.

I'm dropping off my clutch ignition and water pump covers to get coated today.

Sounds good - are you going for cerakote? What ignition cover are you having coated?
