I think seattle will get cancelled. Our governer said today on the radio that soon they will be limiting big gatherings. They already want it to be 10 or less. I would expect a statement in the next few days or less. People are listening. Traffics been really light all week and lots of closed schools.lets be positive and hope it's not bad. I've seen alot of change this week in seattle for sure
Honestly, it's probably for the best. A lot of people arent gonna chance it and they'll get a very low turn out

I’m in Tacoma and agree. The more they test, the more cases will increase. Only takes a few days for the the vibes in town to change entirely. Also, Japan had 6 deaths and closed all schools for a month. We have 11 in one city. I’d guess things will change pretty soon.

So far, the CDC has estimated (based on weekly influenza surveillance data) that at least 12,000 people have died from influenza between Oct. 1, 2019 through Feb. 1, 2020, and the number of deaths may be as high as 30,000.Feb 11, 2020

Corona bullshit domorats wtf
COVID-19: Approximately 97,870 cases worldwide; 209 cases in the U.S. as of Mar. 5, 2020.
Flu: Estimated 1 billion cases worldwide; 9.3 million to 45 million cases in the U.S. per year.

COVID-19: Approximately 3,347 deaths reported worldwide; 11 deaths in the U.S., as of Mar. 5, 2020.
Flu: 291,000 to 646,000 deaths worldwide; 12,000 to 61,000 deaths in the U.S. per year.
Source: John Hopkins Medicine

COVID-19: 3.41% death rate globally, 3.79% in the US (above the global average!)
Flu: 0.0291% to 0.0646 death rate

Based on that data, and some quick math, coronavirus is between 5,178% to 11,618% times more deadly that influenza. It is a new virus we've never seen, and spreads easily. The world's heath organizations, and the best minds on the planet are concerned, but hey, you think it's a big hoax. Let's all rub some essential oil on it and pray it away!

I jokingly asked Ken about it last week (after being on a flight where the two women next to me were wearing masks and fully sanitized their armrests, tray tables, etc.) He was concerned about it then, and basically said he does the same thing on every flight.

I don't blame him.
Has anyone mentioned flying private yet?

I wasn’t too sure what to think of this virus but I received an email today from my customer (very large Fortune 500 company) and they are asking me for a disaster preparedness plan for my company...I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this. With that said if this is trickling down to a small company like mine then this shit is getting real.

I think things might get pretty ugly soon, meaning schools closed and people working from home in isolation

I work near Seattle, also with mid level companies, and can confidently say this is already a reality. Our customers are already seeing material issues and the disruptions are far from over. We’re also on the brink of working from home. Most people in the office today were gathering extra monitors and such to prepare to work from home.

I work in international event/broadcast production and we are being asked to put emergency response plans into place. This has 100% already affected some of our upcoming events (cancelled/postponed) and our clients, who are major major major companies, have strict travel restrictions in place already. This includes two week Work From Home (WFH) quarantine periods after returning from any travel.

It's a thing.

Coronavirus situation seems to escalate in Italy day by day. I would expect many countries will follow Italy's path in few weeks. Can't blame Rozen for not wanting to get infected

How many people died in car accidents around the world today?

Just some food for thought....

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled the Italian GP at Trentino on April 6th.

A couple I know recently returned from skiing in the Dolomites (Northern Italy). They assumed they were far enough away from the high risk areas and safer still in a small ski resort, but one of their party was diagnosed with coronavirus on Wednesday, just a few days after getting home to the UK.

Many feel in time we will speak of corona virus season much the same as we talk about flu season. Push for annual vaccinations each year, etc. Only issue is that corona virus will be seen as "the bad flu" and as stated higher mortality rates.

Read an article about how flawed the initial corona virus test was from the CDC. It missed cases. The CDC only had the ability to run 400 tests a day. Those tested were limited to people traveling to China or direct contact with another coronavirus patient. We were stubborn in our ways and behind compared to the world health organization testing.

Unless the Italian government make a decision to cancel it I think it will run. MXGP won’t cancel it, they’ve been pretty clear that their stance is to carry on and not overreact. They’ve just announced that the Chinese MXGP will go ahead as planned in September. I think as we get into warmer weather we won’t have as much of an issue anyway
