Nope. Normal season flu has a mortality rate of <0.1%

Yesterday in Italy it was 4.8% and now it has come down to 2.7% as more have it. I think we will get more real numbers from countries like Italy than China when looking back older cases.
Some people also say its less severe than SARS. Yes and no. SARS didnt affect nearly as many so dead number was way down. If something is sure.. its not just a flu.

I think Corona virus should be taken seriously. If it was just a common flu the Chinese government would't have thrown millions of dollars to try to prevent it from spreading...

The one thing that all of these Corona virus threads have taught me is that most Vital members aren't very proficient with math Pinch

I got report from some sources but I'm still waiting on a CONFIRMATION. Maybe I'm wrong with my statment but I don't think it's coming out...

just curious...... how's this working out? I mean, seeing as all the trucks are setting up in the paddock and everything, and there is no closing of the British borders?

did you ever get confirmation?

of course i'm being rhetorical, but why not wait until you actually had confirmation until spreading these rumours? i just can't see the point in trying to be first in sabotaging a race... oh well

It is interesting as a middle age person that remembers playing games of "gossip" at various garherings. For those wondering what it is you would line up people and give they first person some thing to whisper to the next. There were no repeats and you had to do it pretty fast. It was interesting what it would end up being at the end.

Nowadays we get to watch it happen at light speed and it isn't always funny.

Always some nitwit that had to go off because they feel important due to them being the first to post about it.

Guess we know who that was today.

I don't think the guy is trying to "sabotage the race" come on.
European Countries like Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland (probably others too) are currently cancelling public events which involve mass gatherings. And it just comes from the government. They don't care what kind of an event you are having, it just goes like "no more mass gatherings until middle of march" and that's it. I have no idea how the English are gonna handle it but it's not completely out of question for something like that to happen.

It's not at all unlikely that events get cancelled... What IS highly unlikely is that somebody in France on a motocross forum has sources within the British government and that despite there being absolutely no news on any English news channels or transportation websites, that the borders are shutting... suddenly they are picking up on motocross trucks from Italy and stopping them entering the country.

The whole premise is ridiculous because due to the EU and its open border policy, its actually very hard to verify where a truck or vans have come from. So is the report that they're stopping Italians or that they're stopping Italian vehicles?

Either way, I don't think the first thing the nation of Great Britain would hear about it, is on vitalmx... it might just make some major news websites if Britain shut its borders down to a specific country.

This thread should have got flushed after my immediate response. But I guess that's my bad because I didn't register the complaint in that other thread.

And please, what other purpose is there for someone to post that Britain has shut its borders, other than to make people think twice about attending?

I tend to agree with you on this.

Why does this thread still exist?

Yesterday I spoke with our local specialist and he talks about mortality figures from around 0,34 to 0,50% (this from the people who gets the decease). That is about the same as flue. Even if the mortality figures will be around 1,50% to 2% it will be less dangerous then every day hazards. Because first you need to get sick at the moment that chance is slim because 0.001% (80149) of the world population had/has Coronavirus, and only the very small percentages of 0.00003% (2624) of the world population has died from that decease, where from 36 outside China.

A lot of people don't get sick or get diagnosed with the flu because they did not have been in Asia and got the infection indirect from someone who's been in Asia or a place where they have Corona.

Look for example to Cholera in Jemen - 50k people getting sick every week at the outbreak. That is still something different. Corona has 80k in 6 weeks?

By the way when a world specialist, working for the University of Leuven (A top 10 in the world university) informs me and others on social media then I believe him.
Im more interested in the fact if its easier to spread 2% isnt much but lets say millions of people get sick at that time 2% is alot of people....

It’s Bullshit - I’ve been working on a Substation right next to the Eurotunnel, and have seen most of the teams, Italian included arrive today, and head off towards Winchester
