Motocross and Raynaud’s?

Anybody else out there that Motos deal with Raynaud’s? I got back into moto a few years ago and have since developed Raynaud’s. I never used to have it. Was wondering if anyone else who rides moto also deals with this. One of the causes of secondary Raynaud’s is below. Sounds like the definition of Motocross! 😂😂

Repetitive action or vibration. Typing, playing piano or doing similar movements for long periods and operating vibrating tools, such as jackhammers, can lead to overuse injuries.

Cold weather and stress can also lead to vasoconstriction and poor blood flow to the hands. Typically get blue discoloration to fingers and painful re perfusion. Dress warmer and perhaps some handguards to deflect the wind. Warm your body up before moto with exercises.

Clinical diagnosis is big. Raynauds will effect both hands, both feet, nose and ears. If you have a problem with just one hand, that is atypical for raynauds. It is episodes of poor blood flow to distal body parts. Cold exposure is often the trigger. Usually asymptomatic during warm summer months.
Can do vascular testing with measurements of blood flow to fingers with and without cold exposure.

100% for me, I deal with it all winter long and then it just disappears during the warmer months

I haven’t been yet, but looks pretty obvious to me. Only happens in the cold. This only started to happen to me in recent years, soon after I got back into Motocross Smile I’ve had some friends who are docs see pics of my hands when it’s showing and they said it’s raynauds. .

Same here. It’s my pointer finger on my clutch hand and it’s really annoying.

I was diagnosed with it this winter but it hasn't affected me in any way. As soon as the temps are above 40 it disappears.

I make sure my core is warm, so I wear a thermal base layer (think skiing) then my MX gear and sometimes a hoodie/puffa jacket on top. Use handguards too. I tried the latex gloves under my MX gloves but they didn't do anything for me and I found them annoying. I use Novik cold war gloves - they take the little hand warmer pouches which I'm sure would be great but I've never used them with the pouches: https://www.novikgloves.com/collections/cold-war-glove/products/cold-wa…

I found the toughest bit of it is my left big toe which goes numb then I can't feel the shifter very well, but you kinda get used to it. Bring on summer!

Cheers

My fiancee has this and deals with it in during the winter ski months. Hand warmers help tremendously and try to warm up your hands every chance you get
