Intelligent informative posts are not allowed. A lot of really good information sacrificed to the PC gods. I thought folks were being very civil. It showed that we don't have to attack each other to exchange different points of view. Too bad.

U could tell, everyone was being polite.

Thing is, they don't want that stuff around.
And u can't blame them.

It is refreshing at times to have a place where one can just get away from all of it.

It's also a shame you spend the majority of your time posting in Non-Moto, instead of Moto-Related. Wink

Click are clicks and advert banners are being seen regardless, right?

Perhaps that will change now that the season has started. Been posting in Moto since the Moto Drive days but the Bro thing going on these days just kind of turns me off.

There's always one or two but you don't have to clip the whole thread. A lot of good stuff got flushed.

It's a shame that the Moto section has gone off the rails with a bunch of the normal stupidity posting and "look at me" "look what my wallet bought".

At least in Non-Moto adults can act like adults, but if you would rather us act like the black sock wearing 909'ers that you cater to, then so be it.

That's far from the first time I've heard that. To be completely honest, it ain't all about the clicks. We have plenty of those. Its only purpose is as a place for people who want to chat about something other than moto. But there are limits to what we allow. Religion and politics are two of the most divisive subjects available. Combine that with the election year ahead, and yeah...I'm really happy that I made the decision to remove those subjects from the playing field a few years ago.

If people can't live by that, completely removing the section is about as easy as an email to our tech guys.

I understand that some topics (like foreign relations, etc.) are fully entangled in politics. I also get that some people love to talk about them. I also hope they find a good place to do that. This ain't the place.

More of what unites us, less of what divides us.

Why are you against the subjects of religion and politics in non moto? They are both very valid subjects in today's society.

How many civil discussions do you see on either topic?

Also, in the past, I saw far too many instances where what people learned about each other's politics would get dragged into the moto side.

I'm perfectly fine without that stuff in here.

I've seen it cause riffs between people that carried over into other areas, other sections. Some are very passionate about that stuff and just won't let it go.

It still pops up in other sections here, noticed it in moto lately, irritating at the very least to one guy.

Civil discussions? Well you wont find that in the moto section after each round. Moto section these days are a toxic environment full of negativity. Non moto section tends to be where the adults are these days so why not have an open forum.

I put it down to the IQ level of each individual whether they can act like adults or not.

Wish all you want. It ain't happening.

As an experiment, I went back and searched for politician names in forum threads. Reading through some of the old stuff, it was fairly embarassing. I deleted a few hundred pages of old messages.

I dunno dude. There are a few hot topics that seem to transcend IQ.
Put up a discussion about, I dunno, abortion, see what happens.

How's the old saying go? Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first? I can't believe I used to let myself get entangled in political arguments. To be honest for the last few years I've completely filtered religion and politics out of my life as much as I possibly can, not just here. I no longer watch the news and I have filters in my browser that filters out any messages on my social media that contain any politicians name or any political term. I have to say, life has been much more pleasant since I started doing that. The news is 99% negative and I don't need no negative waves.
