Does everybody torque their triple clamps bolts/front wheel pinch bolts to the manual spec torque?. Ive been doing it since the bike was brand new. I rode a really hardpack track yesterday. Front end was feeling really rigid. Decided to re tighten my front end by feel (less then the manual specifies). It made the front feel alot better.
I torque mine less then the manual spec. I do 20 NM top clamps and 18 NM bottom clamps. Feels pretty good for me there.

Santa brought me the same thing. I had a couple of installation issues but their customer services helped. The first ride was today. I’ve got to figure out the free play adjustment but when I do it out it’s going to be awesome. Definitely much faster in corners.
What kind of issue?

The pc pipe doesn't look as objectionable as I remember. Nice bike and congrats btw. Plus let's see a pic of 500😏

Thank you and here is the KX500 photo as requested.

Regarding my KX450 PC system, I’d entertain a trade plus cash for for a new FMF system with the SX header if anyone is interested?!

When I started installation the direction were not very clear. They seemed very generic, and had no reference to the judder spring and seat, just said to remove the plates. I replaced the slave cylinder and bleed the clutch but couldn’t get the clutch to work. The next day I called their customer service and explained the situation. It turns out I was shipped an older version of the Radius X from Rocky Mountain. The updated version has a plate for the judder spring , a new wave steel plate and much better instruction. They sent me the new parts at no cost. I installed everything per the new instructions and it works.

I rode it for a couple of hour yesterday and loved it. But I still have to much free play and I have the adjustment all the way in. During my conversation with their customer service, they mention that I may need to add a washer behind the pressure plate. I guess I will try that next.

Pulled my tripple clamps apart again to check the bearings. All looked good. Grease was kind of nasty but no pitting in bearings or races. Re greased them with some maxima waterproof grease. First time was some auto wheel bearing grease. Gunna run it for a whike and check them again in a few months.

If someone didn't want to go Auto clutch or any of the rekluse specialty stuff....Any benefit of going Rekluse over full Hinson setup? Seem to be priced about in the same ballpark.

I had the full hinson setup on mine and it was very good. The lever pull was an issue for me coming off a broken wrist and the stiffer springs on the Hinson setup were an issue for me. I kept the hinson basket in and switched to the torque drive system. Aside from lighter lever pull, it is easier to modulate power with the Rekluse.

Thanks for the reply. Coming from a KTM clutch this clutch definitely feels more 'cable' like but was a bit surprised by the lever pull being pretty damn hard. Was going to try the ARC lever system with different leverage rates but if the Hinson is going to increase it even more the Rekluse may be the way to go.
You were able to use the Hinson basket mixed with the Rekluse other components? Anything else mix/match or was that it.

Gonna take out the new 450 this weekend once before I take the suspenders to Graeme Brough.

Any set up tips for a 6’2” 245lb Clysdedale expert?

Sorry for not having the time to comb through 108 pages for the answer!

From what I've heard the rekluse torque drive which a lot of guys have here is awesome they say it adds power with cleaner oil... I have it but not Installed it yet, I have a hinson in my honda the clutch and motor oil are separate so the oil color don't apply but no trouble from the hinson...

I used everything from the Hinson full kit except the fibers, disks, and springs. I still used the sleeve over the clutch basket fingers. I also have the Arc “flip chip” lever and the whole thing is excellent. No complaints and i’ve got about 30 hours on this clutch setup with no issues. I’m replacing the disks, springs, and fibers just because it seems like it’s about time. I don’t want to ruin a ride day with a slipping clutch and i’m to stupid to use a caliber to measure the components.

I had like 70 hours on my 2016 torque drive seemed fine lol. I don't abuse the clutch on a 450 though. Those plates are $300 or something crazy.

Thanks dude, that's super helpful. I think I'll do a hinson/rekluse mix match system like that. Looks like there's more used in good condition hinson parts floating around out there than Rekluse. I can't drop 1k on a clutch so maybe I can do it on a budget. You saved a ton of time trying to figure out what works and doesn't!

Which chip did you end up using on the ARC lever. I just put one on, awesome product.

I've been wanting to try those I just have the standard ones. Can you make the clutch pull lighter or does it just move the engagement point? I'm going to get set screws for mine it hits my finger some times.

So I finally got to ride one of these yesterday, rode my RMZ for half the day and then someone let me try their new kx for a couple laps. I was immediately as fast as I am on my 18 RMZ that I’ve been riding all year. Definitely think I’m going back to green, an entire year of struggling to wrap my head around the suzuki and instantly as fast on a bike I’ve never ridden that was bone stock is very telling. Being a 240lb rider any issues are magnified when I ride stock bikes, some springs and levers Is all I really think it needs.

Yes the clutch pull is significantly reduced/increased with the different chips. I have yet to ride the bike with it but plan on possibly riding it this weekend, so will check on engagement point. I run my perch so far inward, I never have an issue with the screws.

You should search for the rekluse torque drive clutch pack on the net at just over 300 bucks it uses stock components minus the judder spring with rekluse plates, fibers, and springs...

Looking at Justin Starlings bike, it appears to be a 16-18 he modified. Can anyone confirm this?

??? I have had a Cycra Skid Plate on my 2019 KX450 since August. Fits perfect. Who told you one is not available?

Go for it DB, let me know the hardware list lol.. I use 2 fingers now for that very reason its distracting when the lever hits your hand

Anyone have any trouble with the stock battery? I’ve got about 42hrs on it and I noticed the light on the bars is blinking rapidly, I looked in the manual and I’m assuming it’s the abnormal battery voltage code. I yardsaled it in the mud in Christmas days but I tried to clean it best I could do idk if that has anything to do with it. Not sure what’s going on.

Looks like ARC is making a flip chip style for the brake as well coming out. I was just going to do that version on the clutch since its 100$ more. Now you've felt the action of the flip chip version, do you think it would be overkill for the brake setup or pretty killer and worth the extra $?

Mine took a dump after 4 hours , replaced it with a firepower, and never looked back .

Was told they had a set released but had to redo the mold because they were having issues with the first batch.

Rode today with the ARC flip chip clutch. I had the full soft chip installed, it wasn’t allowing the clutch to release all the way, put in the mid way point, which I’m assuming is close to stock, and it went back to normal. I didn’t have a chance to try the stiffer setting yet.

Has anyone tried the optional clutch piston for the master cylinder? Not even sure what it changes.
