Tuck has gone to shit personally since the Walmart came in. I still go there a few times per winter, but the riding area have been decreased a lot there. Couch's pit was really fun (been there once) if you have someone that can get you in and out safely since it is a pretty decent sized place.

You need to know somebody to get you into an illegal spot.

I haven’t been there since last winter but I was able to then. If my jersey buddies take a ride down soon I’ll keep you updated. Or maybe one of the others on here will chime in

Was MotoTown able to make money before the roof collapsed?

Also, if I remember right, there was a place in Syracuse a few years ago that was open for a few months and then (presumably) went bankrupt.

The business model probably generates the majority of it's revenue during the cold weather months each year, but the expenses and taxes are never ending.

Not sure if Mototown was ever profitable, seems like an old urban warehouse would Work. I know it’s a different demographic but Soccer domes appears to be doing well. maybe we could get some of that NYS economic urban redevelopment cash😘

I worked at the indoor spot “Edge” in Syracuse operating the track and parts counter. It opened around Xmas 2006 and the doors were locked and everything repoed by September 2007. They had a Yamaha and KTM dealership dozens of bikes at one point. Real shame cause that place could of been something awesome for people in the northeast. Right on the NY thruway with an exit a half mile away, Quaker stake and lube restaurant next door and a brand new holiday inn next to that. Perfect set up but bad business deals by management was its demise

Never, not even close. Roof caved in from snow and Tommy D ended up in jail...sad story.

Man I miss my days of riding in Manhawkin - mostly at the DMV, but also at other places, even crossing the GSP a few times in a day. Those were the days! 1989-2000 or so....

Always wanted to know what happened with the place. I rode there many times, around 2008, I rode almost every tues or thurs. when the winter blues set in, riding at MotoTown would pull you out of the funk! How is the bike inventory Mxnick?

Hey Sandman, got way too many bikes! 150+, who knows, I am not counting. Still regret selling you that RM though! Just scored a 1990 RM125 that is even nicer than the 250 I sold you, though.

Regarding Moto Town, the roof caved in on the place from the snow, and they never rebuilt it.

This is what happened to the owner:

Wow...that is sad...have to say, that guy had a set of balls to build MotoTown. I think if the timing was better, that it would have worked. 150 bikes! Excellent! I”m taking very good care of the RM you sold me, I even through some factory works parts on her👍

Mototown kicked ass! Went a bunch of times. The layout was super fun. My buddy’s and me would make the 3hr trip from Upstate on Fridays after work too catch the last sessions then go out for dinner/drinks, bring the bikes right into our hotel rooms after then go back ride all day Saturday and cruise home
