Is Buildbase Honda getting stacked or what?

450 - Jake Nicholls & Tommygun
250 - Steven Clarke

Those guy would be still threat in the MXGP imho.

Except Buildbase isnt interested in GP's .. so that team of 2 top 450 guys and a 250 guy that is aged out , is a great place for them to land. They havent done the Hawkstone International for a while either. I would hazard a guess that Gilbert went elsewhere because he wants to progress beyond the UK.. Buildbase is a solid team, that uses its budget wisely, i expect that they will favourites for the 450 series , 250 depends on who else is in it.

I know there was talk of Tommy doing some GPS and possible Ama races, it would be cool to see the whole team do it.
I presume it would be dates that didn't clash with the British series.
Has anyone got any inside info?

Matterley is on the agenda for Searle but depends if they can get an entry with it being the first GP of the year.

Mitch Evans to HRC
Nothing has been announced.

He is racing the Japanese championship this weekend alongside Tomita, which is where this picture is from.

If Evans has gone to HRC on a 450 , its a weird time for them all over, in MX and MotoGP

Brayton in as a factory guy again , and taking a goy who did nothing in MX2 here as second rider in MXGP, when they could have had Vlaanderen ( maybe he is hard work and they were over him , and he wanted too much money) is just strange

I rate them both as riders but for me a second deat at HRC is the second best ride there is ( even with KTM as they are now).

And in MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo is all but done , and they are scratting for a replacement..

And going with Brian Bogers, that certainly was a strange one.

Unfortunately money talks these days, he brought HSF Logistics as a team sponsor with him.

Ah but like every other 250 rider on the planet, Evans will be better on a 450 (in his own words, on a MX Vice podcast last summer).

Yeah... dont get me wrong, i rate him , but for the love of God, you have to have done something somewhere first to get a shot... i know Bogers and Vlaanderen ended up there with the HSF money, but it seems since Bobby got the flick that bike is just using fuel.

You probably didnt finish 6th overall in the MX2 world championship while missing 3 GPs. So no.

Imo having riders on a factory team simply because they bring $ is a bad situation. And it clearly didnt work out with Bogers at HRC. But let's not act like the guy is some kind of hobby rider, as i said he was 6th overall in MX2 and straight up beat Anstie, Jonass, Seewer, Ferrandis etc. at multiple GP's during that year. And he would still be allowed to ride MX2 in 2020, that's how young he is.

Exactly. It is not like he is riding around 30th place every round. He has the speed to ride top 10/15, which is amazing against a field of World Champions. But, the fact that some proven factory riders that are even better then him don't have a ride is sad. Not to bash on Bogers of course, he is a phenomenal rider. But some are even better.

Another thing, it is almost November and most of the teams haven't even announced their riders officially yet. It is getting worse year by year.

A lot of contracts run from 1st Nov - 31st Oct, so there should be most of the rest of the team announcements later this week I believe.

I wouldn't be surprised but it would be a bad pick in my opinion, there is bigger talent out there. Also from a professional standpoint you shouldn't have a rider in your team dating the team owners daughter, enough ingredients for disaster. If they would go for Pootjes I hope de Reuver get him backvon track, but the guy never really had it.

Didn’t he get on the podium at a round this year?

He actually did with two 4th places that race. f you look back on his results over the last 5 seasons it is just not factory team material, which is unfortunate because it's a great guy who is fast when healthy.

That is pretty much it. KTM gives quiet a few young talents a 5 year contract. Some of them makes it to the top, like herlings and Prado, but most of those kids can't make it, for whatever reasons. It's not only Pootjes, they had Mewse, Savaste and Natzke as well. None of those guys really made it to the top.

Savaste got cut from KTM quickly. He never got the same chance as those guys.

Savaste got injured i think, and i forgot Natzke, he was under the wing of Ben Townley at one point but that didnt last as he didnt think he was putting the work in to make the next level. It is a brutal world, but guys need to deliver. Aging out makes it a short carreer if you dont show enough

Age rule is toxic, if you bloom in your 20's you won't get a chance. Having a normal childhood is not an option, must have an adult's work ethic at 13 y/o.

Age rule should be a minimum not a max.

IMO the age rule should be 25/26
