Fired up my 86 CR 250 for the first time today, completely rebuilt motor sounds awesome, can't wait to ride it for the first time later this week. I've always wanted an 86 250.

Looks pretty sweet, man. I'd love to have one of those, too. You should pick up some 250 decals instead of the 500 ones.

I have had several calls about making colored radiator hoses for these older CR's.

If it hasent already been done.......Look into a shock revalve. Keeping fresh suspension fluid helps too.

Better secure the front brake line before the front tire munches it...

I bought those shroud decals off ebay, I ordered the 250 but got the 500. I'm too lazy to send them back, plus it keeps you guys on your toes. For some reason the 85 style seat cover bugs me more than anything, next on the list would be the frame color , the guy I bought it from had the frame powder coated and it's way to red.

Yeah, I noticed it was the wrong set cover. Just take some contact cleaner and wipe the CR off and it'll be allllll goooood.

Sweet bike man.

That's not an 85 style seat cover, the CR on yours is printed like it was for the red seats on the 89's.

Hi
I have a set of the Acerbis Rad Wings in Very Good Condition but to be honest I´m not really sure if I want to sell them. Try an offer to twist my arm?
I also have reproduction works disc/fork and brake reservoir guard kits in grey for sale.

True. The font on your seat cover is the '89 font. Here is a link to an '85 seat cover. You might want to contact the seller to see if they do an '86 cover. They seem to have every year listed except an '86 and they all look to be 'period correct'. Might be worth a quick email....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Seat-Cover-1985-CR-250-CR-500-CR250-CR50…

Or here's another link from a UK seller (you may need to copy and paste the link on this one):

http://mxm.co.uk/?page_id=17&category=42&product_id=124

Hope this helps. It, along with the proper decals, will really sweeten the look of your steed. Good luck with it, they are a great bike.

Hi,
mxm.co.uk do a seat cover for the Honda CR250R 1986 with the correct logos because they used mine as a template. They also do some good Rad Wing HRC stickers. However shipping can be a little slow with them!

Hi
Yes I know the ones you mean. They looked like the factory Honda Rad Wings from around 1985. Acerbis only did them for a couple of years. I had a set on my CR250 1985 and 1987. I will try and put a photo but I´m not very good at that sort of stuff, you may havee to wait a bit.. I am currently building a Honda CR250 1986 David Bailey Replica it has a rear disc, removable clutch cover, factory style front brake hose plus more. I intend to race it at Farleigh castle in September.

Hi
I just tried (my brother did) to send pics of the Acerbis Rad Wings but couldn't work out how to do it, so sorry I can't help you. Maybe you have some ideas how to send the pics?

Hey guys, I have a few parts for sale that y'all may be interested in.

I just bought an 87 CR250 for my next restoration. It came with an Ohlins shock on it. I replaced it with a stock 87 CR shock off Ebay so if anyone here wants the Ohlins unit I will sell it. I know it will fit the 86 and 87 models but I'm not sure about earlier or later models. The shock spring needs to be repainted and it needs a new bumper and top shock bearing, but other than that it is good to go. It is pretty trick with its aluminum shock collars, holders and adjusters.

Maybe someone out there can can help: I am needing a stock seat for this bike. Honda no longer makes them. The seat on this bike is the lower 125 version, I want the taller version. The base is good so if I could find tall foam and a new cover that would work too.

Extra parts for sale - All Brand New in original packaging:

-Answer Roost Boost for 1984 - 87 CR250
-OEM Honda Left/Right Foot Pegs Part # 50642-ka4-730 & 50616-ka4-730
-Pro Circuit Platinum Pipe for the 87 CR250

Email me if you are interested.
