I switched to salt this year using a Pentair Intellichlor. At the same time, I switched from sand filtration to the poly filter balls. This is my 3rd year with the pool and the least amount of maintenance that I’ve done yet my pool was crystal clear all season. I love it. Anyone who is still mixing up that bullshit chlorine and using pucks is going about life the wrong way IMO. Spend the money up front and don’t look back.

Aboveground pool with Intex salt water chlorinator for over 8 years of use.
Best investment I've ever made for my pool.

Are you installing an above or inground pool?

I've had great luck with these.

Being able to actually see the electrode IMO really makes it easier to tell whats going on.

Who is doing the pool for you? We’ve started talking about doing one as well.

Salt pools with the chlorine generator are the only way to fly. It's worth every penny. It's akin to putting in spray foam insulation in terms of efficiency. You'll laugh at the folks at the Pitch-A-Penny who are lugging around those big jugs of chlorine while you're buying the occasional bag of salt for your pool. Salt chlorine is the purest chlorine that can be made. Buy the system and don't look back.

I don't have a pool anymore and can't remember the brand of chlorine generator we had, but it was awesome. It was a smart system that would sense and adjust the amount of chlorine. Tell you when it needed cleaned, serviced, etc.

Will you keep updating the process on here? I might need to get with you after you’re finished for a list of the contractors you used.
