It’s a start, but like Audi and jaguar, they still have a ways to go.

Not just a name, this guy personally delivers the car to your house, then hits you over the head with a jousting stick

It would be interesting to see how the Tesla compares on the skidpad and slalom. Not throwing shade here, but I bet the Porsche is a better driver's car. You get to decide if that is worth the additional $85,000.

A 4-door electric Porsche with fake Turbo badges? That's gonna be a no for me, dawg.

Porsche just claimed a record on the Nurburgring. Elon is sending over a Model S next week. Smile

Was it a realistic option anyway?

Not too many folks in the $185K range in the first place, whatever the badges say doesn't really matter if the car delivers........

It’s crazy how Porsche went all in on this vehicle and came out 5 years behind Tesla in the areas that matter the most. The EPA rated range is estimated in this chart. It is normally 10-15% less than WLTP so this is expected to be fairly accurate.

Technically the power used to charge this car in some cases will be generated by an engine with a turbocharger...Soooooo it’s a stretch..,

That’s a fair point, but when it comes to electric cars there are literally zero new articles discussing how it drives. All people care about is range and charging time. This isn’t necessarily the right way to look at it as people are already terrified of “running out of battery”. Just wanted to point out how far behind Porsche (and everyone else) is currently in EV tech compared to Tesla. Build quality, interior design and such may be lacking, but the focus is on distance on a single charge and how quick to get back to full.

I’ll take Tesla interior design over any other vehicle made. Their build quality is on par now with others but service is hit or miss. It’s great when you schedule everything through an app but if you need to speak to someone at a service center it’s 50/50 you’ll get through or receive a call back. They are definitely in a transition from a niche high end service support model to a mainstream company with tons of volume.

You have a model 3 right? I think I’ve seen you post about it.

I am very well aware of the issues reaching service, I’m a Tesla service employee lol

At some point there will need to be electric cars of all types. I bet Porsche will lead, or at least try to lead, the "electric sports car" development.
