Netherlands reveal MXON team

Edited Date/Time 8/22/2019 3:19am
And no suprise with Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff getting in the mix!

BUT

The federation has not decided yet who they'll chose in MX2 between Calvin Vlaanderen and Roan Van De Moosdijk.🤷‍♂️

That's not how you reveal a team...

EDIT for the thumbs downers who were offended, it’s not meant as disrespect to the riders. Just some USA vs Netherlands trash talk, all in fun. Herlings is most likely gonna crush it at Assen. Oh, and the Vagisil for your mangina is on Aisle 3, just past the tampons on the left.

Mistake in my opinion. Pick one of the MX2 riders and make a decision. Hardly a vote of confidence for Vlaanderen to make him prove his worth against an EMX250 rider.

Your the best team to have never won, Coldenhoff is on career form and even if Herlings is not 100% who is going to beat him, Coldenhoff? Put the Ducth guy on the team. I’m not even Ducth but to win in front of your home crowd would be huge. Have three Dutch riders.

I think the confusion for the MX2 pick is understandable. You have Calvin Vlaanderen who is a solid rider and will deliver good results if he has no misfortune but then you have Roan Van De Moosdijk who is arguably the next big thing and has beaten Calvin and everyone else in Dutch championship races, convincingly! Not to mention he’s trained by the king of sand Marc De Reuver.. I’d personally pick Roan Van De Moosdijk. I think he has the potential and all the other ingredients to produce exceptional results at Assen, maybe even win MX2.

"A handful of training days in deep sand will be run to determine whether Vlaanderen or Van De Moosdijk should fill the MX2 berth."

I like this approach. It would have been interesting to compare 'a handful of training days in deep sand' between Cooper and Barcia for the MX2 spot.

Wow a country doing everything possible to win the MXoN and having the problem of too many riders wanting to race. How the hell is this a bad thing? France has won the last 5 years. Time for a country that really wants it to step up and take the Chamberlain Trophy away from them. Our boys are going over early. Doing a beach race, etc..... This is going to be another awesome MXoN!

It's not a bad thing. It's just not "revealing a team"...

That would be done after the team is actually selected.

Why are they running training days in deep sand? I thought the organisers mentioned at one point that it wouldn't be the same deep sand they had at the GP there. Or was that just BS to try and make sure the US guys showed up?

I never saw that but I’m pretty sure it’s BS. It’s going to be sand. It’s the only thing that makes the track acceptable, that it’s sand it doesn’t matter so much that it’s flat.

A language test should be enough. The one spelling "verpleegkundige" properly gets the spot.

This is the case when a Federation mess up the show. Why do they call a southafrican?

They did say that shortly after they announced Assen....but I seriously doubt that will happen...It's the sand that makes that track work if it's any other surface it's just another shit track..

The top step of the podium is between them and France. 3rd is up for grabs, though.

Pick any decent rider who can just finish mid pack and I can't see them losing it.

either rider will get the job done as long as they don’t have a freak accident the Netherlands will win no doubt.

It’s not great as it is. Trying to change the surface would be an absolute disaster. Honestly I don’t know if there’s enough normal soil in The Netherlands to do it Grinning it’s all sand

I feel like they should move the start over to the area where the pit lane is going to be and put more track in front of the grandstand. Granted it is cool having the start and first turn under the grandstand, but then it’s not great for the rest of the moto. If they moved it back a bit they could add more length and have some more interesting sections in front of the main grandstand area

Agree... I envision 2 moto wins and 2 top 5 motos... That's a tough score to beat, even with 1 average 250 score.

Health will be EVERYTHING to this happening though.

It looks like it's about 1/2 mile long. I know sand tracks are slower, but damn.

When I see Winterdijk I think of the shrinkage episode of Seinfeld. "Like a scared turtle . . ."

Careful with that talk. All things MXoN are sacred and beyond reproach. Our British MX brothers will label you an anti=patriotic member of the great unwashed if you question anything MXoN.

It is a joke of a track for the MXdN but it isn't far off from the old school Daytona sx layouts. USA for the win. And fuck kawasaki.

Full disclosure....I’m a Manchester City fan. I find the British football hooligans to be more cultured than their MX brethren.
