What exactly are the rules for bikes your aloud to run? I see a lot of people saying I built an 01 for the all star race. I have also read a few post about people building a big bore for them. I read the rules and from what I understood big bores are not legal and age of bike is the last three years the bike was produced. Im only asking because I would like to do a few of them next year. Thanks

I believe the rules you stated are 100% correct, from what i read earlier this year. Link: AllStar Rules you also need to be 15 years old and hold a valid AMA B license at least

DC hit on this in another thread. They can't come right out and say it, but if your older bike doesn't look like a roached out turd they are not going to give you a hard time. Be subtle. If you walk up to registration and loudly ask if your '01 overbore is legal to race, they have to say no.

So are you saying the interpretation and implementation of the rules are a little “different” than the PeeWee class at LL’s? Laughing Tongue Silly

Rules? You mean suggestions. Plenty of non-B riders tried to qualify at Washougal. No tech inspection of any kind. No confirmation after registering other than the charge cleared on my CC. While it's a fun event it's not very well policed as far as rules go............

Are there 40 riders on the gate? If yes, then this sucks for any "qualified" riders who didn't make the cut because the entries filled up before they entered. If not, let the squids race.

You guys and your rules rules rules ... this is essentially an exhibition race and you guys still figure out away to take the fun out of it.

I don’t care about the rules to go protest someone just did not want to plan on racing and not be aloud because of a rule

40 Rider gate through qualifiers on Friday. The downside is I do know of legitimate B riders who weren't allowed to even qualify as other on-B riders were signed up before them online.

Yes, it's a fun exhibition race but a couple points - Does anyone really want to see a bunch of squids flounder around the track between pro motos? That will kill this series quicker than anything. Two- you have guys who are a bit of a hazard on the track. For example my kid got planted in his qualifier on the start and was lucky he didnt get hurt. He got up about 20 seconds back and still pushed through to qualify. The guy that hit him didn't even make it through the LCQ. So yeah, I am all for keeping it fun but a bit of screening wouldn't hurt. At least when Joey ran things he knew one rider from another enough to make sure there was a decent field of racers. Now all they seem to care about is sign up $$ which again, will end the whole deal eventually instead of growing it............

My whole rub with the 125 All Star race is that I was at the last Southwick nationals and I'm positive that I'm faster than 50% of the field which in my humble opinion means that it's definitely not a All Star race plain and simple. Not to mention some of the bikes were total roaches. The premise of it is awesome but in the end it seems to be just another money grab to me. Just my 2 cents though :-)

You have to actually be in the race to prove you're faster than them. Claiming you are from your couch does not count.

At this time of the Nationals it is amazing to me that people are still complaining about this event being called All-Star race. Everyone should know at this point that it is a "Fun" event. As far as being a money grab each rider has a choice to sign up or not again for a fun event.

All the time on Vital there are people wanting fun events and when we get one people kick it and say it is horrible and will go away. This has provided a lot of excitement and buzz and there are people buying 125s just to ride the event. This is a great thing even if it is a Craigslist roach. Again this is a fun event.

I have heard before the complaint about a lesser skilled rider taking out a rider who is or claims they are so much faster.
This is a sure thing for a fun event its just fact you will have varied skill level riders on the track. If you or your kids feel like that is a danger don't sign up i am sure there are other classes over the weekend were they can ride with the level of riders they feel they deserve to ride with.

I cant wait to see this race at Ironman!! I will be cheering on all of them the fast guys in the front as well as the older or slower riders in the back living out their dream of riding at a National. If I was not recovering from injury I would be there with my 125 smiling every lap! This is the whole point of the event and I am thankful to MXSports for having it and creating buzz and excitement for the sport we all claim to love.

If I recall your bike is pimped with fresh powder coat and ano/nitride suspension.components? Don't think you'd have any issued getting your bike in the show. The rules are kind of lax as long as you don't show up with a Craigslist special;.

Well, except you have the whole "rules" issue. MX Sports took over the idea from someone else and wrote a set of rules then basically follows them when it fits their purposes. I ahve no problem at all with it being a "fun event" that's the whole reason we ride. But then it should be presented as such. The main issue with the way it's being ran is that it isn't going to help any kind of resurgence of a true 125 class which if done right it might (yeah I know long shot). But very few want to watch a bunch of squids flounder around a national track rolling all the jumps. You are very much in the minority there. WMX also died out when they allowed anyone to have a pro license for just the same reason............

I find these complaints pretty odd. We have bitched and moaned to get the 125's back in action in some form or another, So now that we have a National stage to run our beloved 125's, we have guys now bitching that the "right" guys aren't racing in them. Yikes

The WMX class was a "Pro" National class for women. While I full support women racers there was not enough riders to support a Pro class. I hope this changes in the future for them I know and support many women riders including my wife.

But the 125 Fun, support, whatever you want to call it the way it is set up right now is not a Pro National points class.
Again its a 4 lap filler fun event that is doing what it is supposed to do. If you look at the riders at the events most all of them are somewhat local again the purpose of the event. The fact there is a need to have to do heat races and a LCQ shows there is support for the event the way it is. If that changes and it becomes a one moto four lap national 125 class then great and yes the riders levels and bikes will have to change with it.

But for now it is what it is and slow riders and all I think its great to see the 125s back at the track. As far as not having pro level riders for the 125 class they are in the 250 and 450 classes the same day. Every class has riders that are not that fast looking. Have you ever been to the Supercross and watched the local guys ride and say they dont look very fast and that does not look very hard to do? Its the same with the 125 class we have now there are people on here saying they think they are faster than half the people out there riding the event. Maybe thats a fact so does it motivate them to get a 125 and race the event next year?

Again I cant wait to see the race at Ironman fast and slow riders alike . I will be cheering on all of them and wishing I was out there also. MXsports I feel has done a great job on this and it is doing exactly what they intended for it to do.

For now the way it is set up enjoy it ride it if you want or not. Anything that supports the sport we love is a good thing and when we just pick and find ways to cut it down is the fastest way to see it go away. If the faster racers that are watching and not riding get a 125 and come to the event then the class overall will improve speed wise with out any changes. If they make a 125 National points class and the riders we have racing now no longer come ride will it become another bust like the WMX? Who knows but for now support whoever is out there living their dream of riding at a national fast or not. And every rider on the track racing is faster than the ones watching.
