So a little over a month ago I posted how it's been twenty years since I threw a leg over a dirt bike and the first time out was a disaster. I had never felt so uncomfortable on a dirt bike and was ready to throw in the towel. I received a ton of support from you guys and decided to grind it out and keep at it. Fast forward to now and I have continued to get better each time out. My comfort level has increased as I'm feeling more of a flow with my riding. I'm able to do more laps continually without pulling off for breaks. I'm able to keep for a lap or two with guys that are definitely better than me. Now I'm not setting the track on fire but I'm finally having a blast and look forward every day to the next time I'm on the bike. The pic is me completely wasted after a pretty gnarly session tonight.

There is no other feeling like it that i have yet to emulate. Moto is almost euphoric for me at times. I swear the best time on a bike for me is when i go completely into automatic mode, mindset. I almost go into some sort of moto trance while on the track. It's an addictive feeling. Rock on.

My results after a 15yr break mimic yours exactly. Unfortunately, I broke my leg last year just as I was starting to really get back in the groove. It set me back a fair amount both physically and mentally which has dampened my spirits. At 46, I’m running out of time...

That's awesome man, keep it up! I'm hoping to get a bike in the next year after not having one for about 7, and even then I only had a "real" bike for about 2 years. I'm 33 now and even though I feel "old", coming on here and seeing how many people in the older age brackets can still go out and enjoy riding!

Really? Who even gives AF?

I don't understand all the whining about the up/down voting. I never even look at it.

I went through the same exact thing 4 years ago when I got back into riding. I was 29, fat and out of shape but the desire to ride again came back after a 7 year break. When I first started riding I couldn't even stand up and ride. It was like I was a super beginner all over again. Now a few years later I have gotten SO much better. Its a great feeling to see the progression. I've always known and been friends with faster riders and now I can finally bang bars with people again and I don't feel like a slug.
