I started at 23 too, but I had a bit more to spend. I would save up a bit more, I think around £1200 will net you a decent 125! I got lucky as my first purchase was a guy who was getting out of the sport so he gave me all his riding equipment and even a loading ramp. So keep an eye out for people who are hanging up their boots as they'll usually throw in some gear too.

Not to be a kill joy but I have to ask he OP...have you ever ridden a dirt bike or any bike before? You have given a few clues that you may not have much experience. If this is the case...I suggest you look at something like a Yamaha TTR 230 or the other brands of equivalent displacement. I don't know what the used market for those bikes is in England...but they are very durable and perfect for learning on. These bikes can also be ridden in the beginner classes to get your feet wet. Be smart and have fun.

That's a big oof my dude. At your age you would be better off with 125 probably but, but butt!!! You have to know that whenever you are buying bike at that prize range you will be lucky if you spent another 400 of paper with queen during the year on the bike.

Also don't go cheap on helmet and boots.

Wish you all the best on your offroad adventures.
This should be the only comment you read .it's everything someone should say.

I honestly always thought it should be motorcross
It would have made the media and anyone who doesn’t ride a dirt bike much happier
