Well, I'm 52 years old, and I haven't ridden a dirt bike in 32 years. I was in my first race this past Saturday at Crossbones MX in Billingsley, AL. The good news: I came in 4th place in both moto's. The bad news: I came in last in both moto's. LOL. After the second lap my arm was so hard i could barely hang on to my grips. You couldn't of stuck a needle in my forearm because it was so hard. My friend who was a LL national champ said I was successful on my first race - I didn't stall the bike, I didn't wreck, I didn't cause a wreck and I drove home in my truck and not the ambulance.
I can't wait for the next race. Met so many great people!!!!

Also if you didn’t loop your bike on the start and have a floppy rear fender all day, consider that to be a success!

Great job! Glad you had a safe weekend, and your arm pump will settle down with more seat time as you get more relaxed. Keep it fun, and stay within your limits. You'll be battling for the lead before you know it!

Congrats! If it helps, just know you did more racing yesterday than 99% of this board combined in the last 10 years.

Thanks folks! I have a long way to go before I'm competitive, but I'm going to work my butt to get there.
I start training this week with Tyler Thompson at Monster Mountain in Tallassee, AL. I cant wait!!!

Yeah, I almost went off the back of the bike after jumping a double. I landed on the rear tire, gas it and the bike stood straight up with me. Luckily, I hit my back brake and brought it down. Whewwwwwww!

The only person you have to impress at our age is yourself. Be safe and have fun.
