Thanks mate, I’m waiting on a few parts to assemble the airbox and carburetor. Still have a few more pieces of titanium to get aswell as new plastics, bars and a few other aftermarket bits. Suspension coatings will happen at a later date unfortunately, will have to save up for that one ? ?

Little bit of progress, more parts have slowly arrived. Radiators we’re cleaned thoroughly and fitted. Likewise with the carburetor. Fitted new OEM hoses and used a couple of Honda OEM clamps to tidy up and secure to the case saver. Also fitted OEM chain slider and rear brake like guide using button head titanium bolts. New DID gold chain cut and fitted aswell as the NOS one industries seat cover (the worst seat cover I’ve ever had to fit).

Before and after of radiator and carburetor

Cheers mate, it’s taking shape now. I’d love too do the US open bike but I got to say it’s looking more like the makita bike is the pick.

Quick update on the build, had bars and mounts arrive along with a few plastics pieces. Fitted up the bars/mounts along with most of the controls after they were cleaned and rebuilt. Cleaned the new pro circuit pipe I’ve had for a couple of years and blued the welds. Fitted the pipe and the ti2 silencer with titanium bolts and carbon rear mount I made.

Before and after of the pipe

Managed to find a brand new period spec answer pro taper bar pad and some pro taper grip covers aswell

Pro circuit throttle tube and bars setup

Bled brakes and fitted plastics/carbon shock flap today, was able to get it out in the sun for a few photos. Still waiting on a few titanium pieces and a few other special pieces I’ve got lined up. Graphics will hopefully be done by the end of next week also

That is so rad!! I've always had a soft spot for these RM's... Between them and the late model CR's are two of my favorites of all time. I really like the level of work you'rr putting into this on your own, rather than just bolt ons. I'm in the middle of my build and doing the same thing... Keep up the good work man! Sub'd!

Love it! Where did you get your Ti-2 shorty for the RM250? Would love one for mine but can't find them anywhere.

Thanks mate, been quite enjoyable building it so far. There’s a heap of little details that I havnt bothered including in my post as it becomes a massive job taking photos of everything. I might take some photos of the little stuff at some stage and post it up.

Got the ti2 directly from pro circuit, they don’t make them for the rm250 or rm125 but I emailed them and asked if it was possible to get a one off made and to my surprise they abliged. I will warn you it wasn’t cheap but it saved me cutting up my pc r304 and custom making one myself.

Had the M8 40mm titanium bolts show up during the week for the triple clamps, brake caliper mount, front axle pinch bolts and chain rollers. Had a chance to fit them today. I’m still waiting for the full graphics kit but I fitted the front plate sticker I got signed by ricky back in 2017 at the AUSX open in sydney.

Bike is looking awesome! I'm in Aus and have a brand new Pro Taper Carmichael 4 bar pad but the only way I would think about letting it go is if you find me a new Pro Taper Pastrana 199 pad!

Tell me about it, they seem to pop up every so often but they get snapped up quickly. Can’t say I’ve seen a reed one for a long time

Great looking build. What did you use when you refinished your triples?

Thanks mate, I took the larger more prominent cast lines away with the combination of hand file and die grinder with a flapper wheel. To get in more uniform and smooth I then went to 320 emery paper then 600 emery. Final finish is with scotch bright by hand. Was a long process but the results are worth it

Small update, had some neat little drilled washers and plastic washers show up. They needed to be modified for a couple of the places I used them but came up neat. Also was very lucky to acquire a ricky Carmichael bar pad from another forum member (TR3NT). Mainly only need graphics and a few other pieces that are in the pipeline and it will be complete.

Glad you got the bar pad! I know you said you needed the red one for another build, but if you ever decide to sell I would pay good money for it to complete my Pastrana bike.

I was pretty chuffed to get hold of the bar pad. I’ll be hanging onto the red one at this stage but if I decide to sell it I’ll let you know.
The vital member I purchased the rc4 barpad from manage to chase down a red answer PT bar pad the same as mine in brand new condition for his sobe bike, they are still out there.

Graphics arrived in the mail a couple of days ago and I’ve been slowly applying them. Bike is pretty much complete other than a few other pieces I need to organize or find. Also still need to get the forks and A kit shock kashima coated but will have to save some serious $$$ for that
