JR Reyes EMX125 This Weekend

Not sure if it's been posted about yet, but it seems JR Reyes is riding a Revo Husqvarna 125 in the EMX125 class at the St Jean d'Angely GP this weekend in France.

Anyone know how he's been riding lately? Wonder if any expectations or just to have fun...

I heard they are taking some film crew over there to document it (for Seven), so I would imagine its more that just going for fun.

Kid is crazy fast. I don't believe he lines up just for fun, they are pretty serious. I would expect him to be competitive though I have no idea what the competition will be like. Plus racing in France isn't the same as Texas, Cali, and Mexico like he's accustomed to. Wish him luck, my kid has trained with him a few times and he's a good kid with a strong work ethic.

I worked a little with them last year and was impressed with the kids desire and tenacity on race day

The kid looks better than expected on the 125 considering his size - and while he has yet to establish himself here as a front runner podium threat in 125 SB - he has shown some flashes of brilliance that have great potential.

I doubt he will do extremely well - seeing as he is still a kid and racing a whole new scene - but I believe he has the potential to do well if he can figure it out.

It will be neat to see - he has been about a 10th place kid here, lets see against the euro stage how that translates

EMX 125 is a brutal class, and in France it will be crazy fast . St Jean should suit him layout wise, but the support classes get butt fucked on track prep. There will be 2 groups, top 20 go through, no LCQ . Dont even think they get a free practice. He better hit the ground running else its game over. Revo know the score, so he should be ok with them.

Yeah 18th in his group in FP, qualifying still to come. P.15-25 in his group is bunched together so (within1-2 seconds) it's gonna be interesting.

22nd in his quali group so he didn't make it. But he wasn't far off so i think that was pretty good for his first ever EMX125 race on a really difficult track.

Tough class and tough track but that's not too bad for a first try actually. Would be cool to see him race the whole emx125 season next year.

good to see the 125 being taken seriously and discussed as such.

There are many guys who work day after day and dont make it in. Some cant get in but next race they make top10. Its hard school for young guys for sure.

That series and program is a large reason the euros are kicking our asses

It’s like Loretta Lynn’s 8 times a year (or whatever it is)

On the real deal tracks and stage

Cream rises to the top and you see what the guys are made of.

And here it is a novelty act, way to plan for the future, burying your head in the sand won't alter the course US MX is on if things don't change sooner than later.
