That sound and technique...There is NOTHING better in motocross than ripping a 2-stroke. The sound, smell, feeling, racing, perfection you have to ride it with and thrill when you rip a lap screaming the motor. In my entire 20+ years of riding or racing I've only spent 10 minutes on a 4 stroke and was bored out of my mind. Not because it wasn't fast (scary fast), but simply for the fact that it was nowhere near the same feeling as a 2 smoker where body English, technique, throttle control, fitness and the aggressiveness needed make or break your ride/race.

Cool! They must be taking the sound from an onboard for the whole vid, nice touch.

They really are better to watch, so much more violent looking and the effort required is so visible.

So what did you think?

I have that bike, it's great. Barcia makes it sing.
JB can rip and he does make that girl sing! However, Im a little disappointed. I wanted to really hear him ring that thing out over the jumps, like he does in that older clutch destroyer vid on youtube. The 450 has really changed the way he rides. Agree or disagree?

Sounds like a video of Motocross Madness 2 the way the audio has been butchered, hard to watch honestly.

Now, that boys, is real mx

If you haven't ridden an 18+ Husky/KTM smoker, do yourself a favor and ask one of us pre-mixers to let ya take it for a rip.......they're really good bikes and a blast to ride

ps- i like them all 4t/2t just prefer smokers cause I'm old ( and they put a smile on my face ) and only race vintage mx these days but the 4t are MUCH easier to ride IMO

The "Twomac" video and now this one have made me realize that there aren't too many legitimate 2-stroke racers left, even among the older pros. The last time Tomac raced a 2 was on an RM85, and Barcia didn't really even do that (he was the poster boy for the CRF150, remember.)
These guys who grew up racing thumpers missed out on a whole style of moto. I'm glad they can appreciate and love the smokers, though.
Barcia on a 125 was a BEAST! You Tube is full of vids...check em out. He won everything.

Just watched it, how lazy do you have to be to not sync the sound of the motorcycle to the bike on track? It's only in sync maybe 50% of clip. It's 3 minutes long, he's not editing a motion picture and he's getting paid for this shit. People on here put better edits together for nothing.

Its pretty sweet how they can corner on 2 strokes. Theyre going sooo much slower that they can just hold it pinned down the entire straight away, then just lean it over, turn the bars, and keep it wide open thru the whole corner, out the exit, and still hold it pinned down the next section. They never have to let off lol. Looks and sounds badass but its also noticeable how hes goin like 10mph slower.

Phreek,

This is not done on accident, this was edited to sound this way with cleaner audio. A lot of the drone shots can't get proper audio unless you have audio guys on the ground recording just directional audio (to try and not get the drone sound). So they edit in the sounds to work with the action they have

The problem is it just doesn't sound correct to the bike movements, in some edits the audio can still be edited out of sync with the action but it can make the edit more impactful, here it just doesn't work at all the way it's been done.

The poster boy for the CRF150 was Cooper Webb. Barcia was straight 2 stroke in his AM days.

This is what I was referring to. I stand corrected on his 125 rides.
