NBC Gold app will not work on my Apple TV

So I signed up today on my phone, downloaded the NBC Gold app, all works fine. Go to download on my Apple TV, all good until I go to launch it. It says I have to download the NBC sports app. Now this is where my problems start, firstly I click on the download prompt & all I get is a spinning symbol. If I then search the app they suggest, it’s not even in the App Store. So what do I do? I can stream from my phone but I’d prefer to use my box & why didn’t it prompt me to use the new app on my phone?

Edit The app they want me to use isn’t available in my region so I’m not sure what I can do now.

I haven't even looked at my Outdoor app since last season's end. I thought there was an update NBC Sports app that was released, I recall getting some notice via e-mail. I'll have a look.

I feel cheated because I’ve been sold something that the app I need isn’t available in my country unless of course an update is on the way.

You need to download the NBC Sports app and then you can sign into NBC Sports Gold from there. They stopped utilizing the NBC Sports Gold app and moved all functionality over to the NBC Sports app. It's a pain in the ass, but now you don't need 2 apps.

OK, so I think there are now 2 apps. NBC Sports Gold app is the one we non-USA viewers need, this is the "standalone streaming service". NBC Sports app is used if you are a USA resident with a cable package and then the user logs in with his cable provider information.

So you *should* be able to download the NBC Sports Gold app to your Apple TV and log in from there. You don't need the other app. Jeez they could have named them slightly better!

He is over seas so its a location thing. Totally sucks as this wasnt how it was originally.

To fix it you would have to do some vpn networking Sad

I would see if you can call them for a refund or try emailing them.

Its possible to get a router that can do VPN so that your address comes from America but IMO thats more work than its worth.

Is this the same if you're out of USA? I don't think the regular NBC Sports app is available at iTunes for me as a Canadian customer.

EDIT: My Apple ID is for sure registered in Canada. I only see the NBC Sports GOLD app when I go to the App store on my phone (I'm at work). I can log in and I'm currently watching a moto from Ironman 2018 just to prove that it is working for me.

Works on my nbc Gold app on my phone too but I can’t see how I mirror it to my tv, there’s no icon to do that.

Ah so the problem is there is no NBC Sports Gold app for Apple TV. I get it now, I missed the part where MM-KTM said he had it working on his phone. I normally just watch through a browser from my laptop connected to the TV or my iPad if I'm on the move.

EDIT: and on my phone I don't see any way to mirror it to a TV either.

There is an nbc Gold app but it wants to me to download a non existent app (to me anyway).

Spoke to NBC on the phone, they said the new app is for US customers only, anyone from the outside of the US, it should still work through the Gold app. Mine doesn’t for some reason. They’ve gave me a refund.

The gutted the stand alone gold TV app and put it in the regular NBC Sports App, and you sign into gold there under its tab. I have had no issues watching "gold" SX coverage on the regular NBC Sports App since they made the change.

gold or nbc hasn't worked for the last 2 races for me. I hope this is fixed by 1st national. if not I will refund as well.

There are two ways to play from your iPhone on your Apple TV. One is AirPlay, and the other is screen mirroring. Not sure which one you tried, but have you tried the other? I’m assuming AirPlay is the one that isn’t available, but screen mirroring should always be available.

I can screen mirror but it’s in the most basic form, as in it shows my phone on the TV. The problem with that is, if I want my screen to go full screen I have to turn my phone sideways & it doesn’t go full screen.

Airplay I believe is when you have a rectangle symbol in the bottom right of the screen, you tap that & it appears on your tv. You can use your phone whilst it is playing & put it on the lock screen. I have the MXGP TV package & that is how I AirPlay it to my TV. I don’t have that option when I watch on the nbc Gold app.
