Vacation from the UK: Stores, tracks, Moto things in SoCal

Hi guys,

I’m headed to SoCal beginning of June spending time in LA and San Diego, just wondering what stores would be best to visit for riding gear and general parts? Looking online Cycle Gear look like there’s plenty of stores??

Also I’d like to try and see some pros outdoor practicing so am I right in thinking milestone, Pala/fox and glen helen? What days of the week are normally busier?

Anyone got any other advice for some Moto things I can do whilst there?

I was able to hit Fox Racing, Pro Circuit and Troy Lee in succession one afternoon. The coolest was definitely PC with all the old bikes, followed by Troy Lee and then Fox. All were really cool to visit.

I would totally skip cycle gear nothing special there chapparal is a huge store though / dealer.

GH on Thursdays, though you won't see the KTM/Husky guys there. lol I hear Cahuilla pro only Mondays now as well.

You need to go see Glen Helen. It is truly iconic. I was out there last year for work. I just drove the surface streets and avoided the freeways. 40mph and lots of stoplights but zero white knuckle or traffic jams. You will have a blast.

When you're down in San Diego maybe go check out Motoworld of EL Cajon

Pala/ Fox Raceway, Monday, Tuesday and Friday
Cahuilla Creek, Wednesday
Glen Helen, Thursday (highest chance of seeing pros)
Milestone, Mon-Fri (not too likely to see pros here)

I agree with previous poster, don’t waste your time with Cycle Gear, mostly cheap junk. If you’re going to GH, swing through Chapparal, it’s pretty close to the track. Other options might be Langston’s or Temecula Motorsports. Pro Circuit and TLD are worth the trip but both are in Corona which has some of the worst traffic anywhere so avoid rush hour. Sounds like a fun trip!
