I am sure this has been mentioned somewhere else deep in this thread but I am hearing something while riding the bike every once in a while. Kind of like a whining sound that sounds like it is coming from the shifter side of the motor? I only hear it sometimes in a tight corner or in a slow spot when not on the throttle hard. Any ideas/solutions?

Funny that the factory trick was -100cc of oil from 06-18 (haven’t heard on the 19’s) because at the spec amount the oil aerates, meanwhile the internet says add 100cc.

I change the oil filter every time I do the oil and add a full quart of oil. I think I maybe heard it once in 20 hours. I guess that's what the book says so I'm not running more oil. My 16 did it pretty often when I would go into first gear after riding.

Have you guys noticed excessive chain noise with your 19 KX450.
Every time someone rides my bike they think something is wrong with it by the noise it makes.
I know what they are hearing is the chain because I can hear it.
I just put on a new non-oring chain and sprockets (stock gearing) acerbis chain guide and it seems even louder.
Yes I checked the chain slider, tm designs lower chain roller, and top roller and they are in good condition.
Bike has 19 hours.
Any advise or suggestions?

Are you sure it’s not the clutch? They have a whine to them when they get hot due to lack of oil flow. I thought it was a drive noise at first on my ‘16 and have heard it’s not any better on the ‘19. Adding a little oil helps otherwise there is info out there about modifying the push rod I believe to allow more oil flow. The noise is nothing to worry about, but can be annoying. If you already knew about that, disregard this post!

I've owned all brands and this one is the noisiest by far.
And is really noticeable in the air off throttle?
Update on Chain Noise and Suspension Revalve:
Figured out the chain noise off throttle while in the air. The stock upper chain roller was the culprit. I pulled off and greased it with water proof grease. Poor stock design because it has no bearing, basically a bolt with a metal sleeve.

I tried changing to a 5.3 in one fork and didn't like it. I did the work myself so maybe I screwed it up.
I called FC and they wanted to put 5.3 in forks and revalve, Enzo said stock 5.0 and revalve, Race Tech sight recommended like 4.6 springs.
It was crazy how different the spring rates were from different suspension shops I talked to.
Anyways I've had really good success with Craig Decker with Enzo so I went with him. Craig's personal bike is a 2019 KX450.
I'm 190lbs local Vet Int.
Stock 5.0 spring on forks with revalve and I believe they changed small springs
Stock spring on rear shock, revalve, and some modifications to the piston
The suspension was awesome. Didn't even have to do any clicker, set sag and rode!
Cost was only $450 plus shippingSmile

I did the FC revalve with the 5.3 made the bike track better and feel way better , had the revalve with stock springs and was to soft for my weight and speed . 205lbs did alot of testing with the FC guys to get the bike to feel the way I liked it . Nothing better then 1on1 service .

I wouldn't buy a cheap boot. When I was 15 I had cheap fox boots and I high sided in a berm, the bike hit my boot into the ground basically bending my foot in half. 4/5 metatarsals resulting in surgery and pins lol.

A local shop sells tech 7s for $280. Decent boot for a good price. I'd imagne there are a few online retailer's that would have similar deals

No that doesn't really affect that just carry good momentum and don't lock the rear wheel. Sure on super tight turns you need slight clutch use.

Yes , ride engineering, with 105 sag works great 5.9 rear spring with Fc revalve. Sweet set up and just did the 53si in the front way better hold up in ruts able to soften up the front sticks
