So from what I could find, standard front geometry figures for KX450 are:

2018 2019 Difference

Rake = 28.2* - 27.6* - 0.6* steeper
Trail = 127mm - 121.9mm - 5.1 less trail
Wheel base = 1496.06 - 1485.9 - 10.1 less wheel base

Running the 20mm axle reduces trail a further 1mm to 120.9mm.
But that's all based on standard clamp and bearing offset, as well as swingarm length and chain set length, so there's a big * in here too.

For comparison:
2019 CRF450R

Rake = 27.22*
Trail = 116mm
w/base = 1473.2
That is great info and would be nice to have from KTM and others too.
Talking about Tomac would be nice to hear what he was using on older Honda that didnt have short swing arm desing.

I personally think it’s more eli’s own confidence in the bike, he is confident with how hard he can push it
Maybe he watch James Stewart most recent video interview and he realized hey maybe James is right because Eli is a beast ?!

From what I know, when Eli was last on Honda’s they were running rake that wasn’t the same as production.
Sorry to skip multiple pages to regurgitate this.....BUT.....why in the fuck do we allow modifications of this proportion in sport where the guys in 15th place are digging in their ash tray for change to get to the next race?

At what point does talent win races compared to money and multi million R&D Spending ?

How come his bike only smoked in one race this whole year? And in the LCQ when it is so short? Eli even commented he rode the LCQ very conservatively.

I have a friend who is a former MX National champion and he talked about using the clutch in the exact same way so I think it is a common technique. I would use the clutch like that too except I have to buy my own! Smile
This is how I used to ride my two stroke all the time. I’m now having trouble (being that I’m just getting into the 4 stroke world) with finding the balance for it. Trying to back off it but then I start to not use it at all. I feel like I want to be in between totally off the clutch and where I was on my two stroke. It doesn’t seem as necessary to me on the 4 stoke but my muscle memory probably has me frying this clutch...and dad doesn’t buy my parts any more ?
