Is Sprint Enduro the next best thing to Motocross?

Hey all. I just watched highlights from what was called Sprint Enduro, and it likes like a hoot! The pros looked to be on 450s and were flying! It looks a lot better than what I know about regular enduro which involves slow technical riding over logs, rocks, and other horrible things.
I still love moto but would like to try some other forms of racing and looking for some feedback.

I’ve done a couple. Good stuff! Lots of seat time and quick pace. No sitting around between Motos.

You are timed the lay out can be a couple miles long you will get 3 cross tests and 3 enduro tests per day

I've done a couple and they are really fun if you like moto and offroad. Essentially, you get 6-8 loops of 1-3 gear single track that last 10-15minutes for each loop depending on your speed. It doesn't sound like a bunch but you are sprinting moto style over tight and often rocky/sketchy terrain.

D37 in Southern CA is having a series this year and the first race had a really good turnout. The next race is a two day at Red Mountain March 30-31.

I haven't been on a bike in years but last year my son wanted to race a couple so i borrowed a friends bike and raced a couple of them. It was so much fun that I had plans to buy a new bike and start racing again after over 30 years off a bike. Last year they broke their attendance record at every event and this year at the first event they were sold out before the race. They are allot of fun.

I think it's going to gain a lot of traction. Also think its one of the safest forms of offroad motorcycle racing. No massive jumps, no 40-guy first turns

Not sure where you get "no sitting around", the two I did that's what you do majority of the time. The tests are normally 7-15mins then you have to wait your turn to ride again. They may have changed things since 2016 when I did those two races but I didn't care for the format back then.

J Day gained a ton of popularity in the northeat. It's a woods event, 30 minute moto's, 2 each class. No stoppers or swill holes, more open faster trails. An extreme section usually thrown in. Very similiar to a "Grand Prix" for the left coasters. J Day is aldo running lots of Sprint Enduros now too.

Langham - I'm doing round 2 of the District 37 Sprint, pretty sure my brother is too. Come race it with us!

Search Youtube for footage from Round 1, the course was really, really rocky but the format looks super fun. Round 2 i believe is staging at Charlie's Place, i'm sure you're familiar with that area so it should be a blast!

Yup, for elite Pro racing nothing will ever compare to MX/SX. But for local/amateur racing, you can’t beat a JDay/GP style event or Sprint Enduros. Much more seat time per $. Turnouts for these events are 3x what they are in our regional MX series.
