I've been playing the game since day 1. I'm not sure why everything in the new tracks are so pre made. It ruins the experience in my opinion. Having to ride it like a slot car track or you bounce around like a pinball.

Im going to be "that guy" for a second, but I don't understand how track deformation has gone so far down hill since reflex. It truly was ahead of it's time. It started out as a highway of a track and tracks like sandwick would get so tore up. You made all your own lines.
if your bouncing around everywhere it means you’re not playing the game well. we all kno what you mean when you say bouncing around, but it’s a matter of learning how to play and hit the lines right to where you ride smooth. this is the kinda stuff that annoys me about gamers. it’s not the games fault you aren’t executing the game the way you want it to. it’s not like it’s not possible to ride smooth. obviously you can not like the game that’s your opinion but you gotta realize it’s your skill. i don’t have the experience of riding around on a slot car track. in fact, it’s rare that two laps are the same. that’s what makes the game awesome. it takes quite a bit of skill to hit lines and ride smooth. try playing in fpv maybe? imo it’s a little more forgiving and easier to be smooth. remeber to lean forward and back with the right stick and you don’t always have to use the right stick when cornering. if you’re trying to play the game like you did reflex, it’s not gonna work. also, the AI imo tends to create rediculous lines and ruts. if you play online the tracks form much more realistic. i wish i could show you what the tracks look like after a few minutes while in a freeride session with some fast guys. how anyone could think reflex deformation is better is something i’ll never comprehend. don’t act like you didn’t hop around everywhere after four laps on sandwick lol. reflex hopped you around too it’s just your momentum wasn’t slowed down as much as when you hop around in All Ouy. and the lines on the new tracks are “premade” because those are the lines people take and that’s where the rideable ruts form and prevents the track from ever being a “freeway”.

people think this game is so unrealistic and use comments like yours to say that but i think they’re examples of how the game is realistic. just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s unrealistic. it is annoying thowhen you’re trying to rip and you hit a line wrong and you hop around and lose momentum. but that’s imo what makes the game so fun, it takes skill

Really not a fan of the AI 'improvements'.

They're more competitive on All Time. Instead of closing in on lapping riders in 3 lap races you're actually matched for pace. But they're all kamikaze riders and being anywhere near them on the track you're almost guaranteed to be taken out by them. Or bumped off the track.

Which means you have to battle through the pack again only to have them take you out again. Its fine when you holeshot and can open up a lead. But when you dont it feels like a lottery making it through a lap without being hit.

Edit
That said I am not in the sameleague as the better guys here. I imagine they crush the AI regardless.

So, is this game dead now or what? Tons of stuff not yet fixed since the launch, 2 year old bikes, retarded sounds and not a update in sight? I fired it up for the first time in a few months this weekend and i remember why i loved it, i also remember why i hated it so much that i quit playing it until it got fixed.

I hated my last milestone games, but SX2 looks nice, LOOKS atleast... this game has such potential but im guessing a small developer cant do magic, milestone seems to have the means to make a great game but their product is also far from perfect, but man i would kill to get a SX (or mx for that matter) track with demanding whoops, a steep dragonsback maybe and some rhythms that actually need finesse and timing.
Goat farm was a huge step forward but they can take it up a few notches without a doubt.

I've emailed them about adding the 2019 gear at least to the game. I've always gotten responses back before, but not this time. They just released some DLC just before Christmas. Some good national tracks. They've stated they're coming out with more DLC this year as well.

Hey ya'll, just thought I'd chime in. I've been reading the conversation that's followed this dudes insane hot laps, and it reminded me of a conversation I was having with the designers a few days ago:

Something that we're striving towards is the ability for every players experience to be unique and their own. For those who want to burn crazy fast laps, there are tuning settings and camera views that can help achieve that goal. It may not make the game look or feel realistic, but that is not what they are interested in. For guys like me, I like the game to look and feel like Slay would if he were Free Riding, but with the ability to send stuff that he wouldn't be able to, so my tuning settings and how I control the bike reciprocates that (here's an example: https://www.instagram.com/p/BkQlam2lq38/ ).

I wont get too far into the weeds here with spoilers, but our next Community Update Patch (no date yet, but aiming for March) will be the biggest patch we've done so far. One of the major changes coming with it will be a revamped tuning system. For those who want a heavier feeling bike, that requires proper rider weight distribution and controlled breaking in order to corner well; this is now going to be a possibility.

We have a goal of turning this franchise into the platform this sport deserves. That meant starting over with Unreal, and then continuing to add to the game, make changes, and take feedback from ya'll to continue it's evolution as it moves into the future. Sometime in 2019 we'll open up about the long term future goals and what our plans are. Can't wait for that day. Until then, keep it pinned ya'll.

I think you could just let the ground physics be and just focus on the tuning and in-air physics.
The bike control and weight could/would/should be 100% heavier without any issues and you could still be able to ”send” unreal stuff.

The throttle should be atleast twice as snappy also, when in the air, as soon as you look at that damn throttle cable it should hit the revlimiter, now it just sounds and feels like my XL250s from 1980, all 19 horsepower unleashed when i shift from the revlimiter in 2nd and the bike bogs in third...

I hate this. Let's wait a year after most people have bought the game and most DLC, then release an anniversary edition for $30 that includes everything. That pisses me off.

Slightly off topic, but windham151 posted a new video about Reflex 2 being in development. Not by Rainbow/Nordic, but by Reflex content creators.

The guys at Nordic seem to have been laying low since they released the DLC just before Christmas.

That sounds great. My advise for the next game is to scale it down a bit. Slow down the speeds, make tracks smaller (especially width and corners), make the rider and bike bigger. If you do this, I think you would have a real winner.

If they slowed it down a little it may be the biggest help for frame rates they could do. I would think higher speeds would make it harder for the consoles to handle without having frame rate problems. It's way better but wow was it an issue when game was released.

Haha na. Thankfully I waited long enough to get it for $14.99, but I just think it's a slap in the face to guys that paid full pop for the game and purchased the DLC

he took the video down cause it was nothing but clickbait. no facts or anything. it was all based on one guys comment in some forum saying “we’re” making a reflex 2 and “there will be no hype about it, it will just release”. it was obvious bs. but winham made a video and everyone called him out on the lack of proof about there being a reflex 2 so he deleted the video lol.

in other words, it ain’t happening. the funny thing to me tho is how people would love a “reflex 2” because of the name. but that doesn’t mean it would be anything like reflex. if someone made a game it wouldn’t play like reflex, they could try to improve on the original but ultimately it would be different and i’m sure the same people that say they would love it would actually end up bitching about it for some reason. just because a game may be called reflex 2 doesn’t mean it would be good. i can’t believe i’m writing the words “reflex 2” lol.

i've enjoyed the hell out of the game so i don't feel like i got the shaft

all the DLC has been awesome

do you play 1st person? because if you're racing with anything but 1st person then the game can be very unplayable, 3rd person is sick for free-riding, but 1st person is the ONLY way to race or ride the tracks

I've been playing in first person lately. I absolutely love the free-riding and wish MES would add more of the free-riding element to their game. The compound on MES 1 was a decent start. No one has free-riding locked down like MX vs ATV. I'm just not a fan of the racing on All Out. I didn't like Supercross either, but I loved Reflex and Alive.

it would be the same tho if you modded everything out and put the clickers in the same spots...right? i wonder how different this “new tuning system” they’re working on is going to be.

for as large of a tuning range the game gives you, I don’t see enough change and difference. 3rd person you can feel the tires a lot, suspension some, and imo gearing hardly any at all. i mean a little but like i said, from extreme left to extreme right, very little difference. which is why i think they’re redoing it all. try making changes in FPV, you can’t notice anything lol. it wasn’t until i played in third person that i said ok i feel that now. no mesx2 for you?

I used to run the tire slider turned back a lot. I really liked the way it felt that way, but I mostly race online so I was tired of losing. I still lose, but not as much or as badly haha
